just wanted to know what the flight time would be using two airthunder 2200 3s packs with the stock motor and setup?

Hi,

Flight time should not be more than 5 minutes. 4 minutes to be safe for the lipos.

I am waiting for my 550 in the mail. I also would like to know the flight times because I do own 2 AirThunder 3S1P packs. But you don't have to worry about over discharging them.

Hey guys I went to a THunderpower 4100 5s battery 20 minutes with stock motor hows that for flight time
but my 1100 align 7.2v bec pack lasts one flight and in the last red led YIKES !!!!

do you have to use a seperate battery for the rx? cant you just use a ubec and run the rx off the main pack?

I don't have the 2200 packs but I use the Evo 2170's and the 2500's I got 6 minutes from the 2170's with the stock setup, i could get more from the 2500's but I generally flew the 2500's

Air Thunder 2200's

Hurry XES Pro, carbon 500's, short tail, stock motor. I do slow circuits,I have my timer set for 6:30, put back 1600. Friend flew 3d for 4min, put back 1350.

One Battery

Yes Mike its just one battery fits nicely on there too Ill post some pics monday and yes very nice indeed that is of course with stock motor. I just ordered the 1000watt 1100kv from Rediheli we shall see how much that cuts run time. Of course I will be hauling up a Askman 360 mount with it so a lot of variables. Make sure to watch the BEC battery tho.

Ok I flew my 550 with the Air Thunder 2200 6S2P and can only get 4min 30sec out of them.
I also tried some 3300 packs and could only get 9min out of those. I had to put one under the heli and the other in the standard front mount for CG.

550 standard gears
1100kv motor

9 mins out of 3300s... that is better than I am getting out of my FP 3200s & FP Evolite 4250s.

I am using a 1100kv motor - with the Revco gears..

What head speed, pinion, and blades are you using?

Updated Heli. I added a boom mount tail servo for tail weight to use my 3300mAh batteries. I also had to move my Rx pack to the tail servo spot for added balance.

6s2p 2200's ? what are you using...6s 1100 packs? where you putting 12 cells? take some picks with the set up.

In the pictures you posted it appears you are using 2 3 cell packs, if they are 2200 mah in series you would have a 6s1p 2200 mah pack.

The last group of pics shows what looks like 3000 mah packs...so you have a 6s1p 3000mah pack.

I'm just wondering....sometimes it confuses me also.

Although the batteries are not connected to it, the fourth picture shows the ESC connected to a series connector - this would give a 3300 22.2V 6S1P battery.

Yes its a 6S2P 3300 mAh.

Rob,

If you have 2 x 3300 3S1P in series you will have 22.2V 3300mAh 6S1P, if you have them in parallel you will have 11.1V 6600mAH 3S2P.

The connector in the fourth picture looks very much like a series connector which will gives 6S1P using 2 3S1P packs. Are our 3300's 3S2P ?.

Are you hooking two more more packs to the ones that are already there in the next to last picture?

It does look like the two there are hooked up? and there is still a place for two more. are you using 4 packs? two just are not in te picture.
