Wow she looks awesome Those photo's are amazing the clarity and definition are excellent, and so is that heli...Beautiful machine Is that a double rod push/pull rudder control linkage setup? I've never seen that before, but then again I dont see any Caliber 90s going around over here either. Would it be possible to have a photo of the linkage set-up at the tail end? Please Merry Christmas Cheers Ralph
Its when you see refinements like that, you can understand the cost of this machine, which is probably the price of perfection.

Remarkable machine, erich. Like the new TR servo you have now. Sounds like a definite winner on your hands now.

Hey Erich,
You need to retire your old 601(Hehehe). Look what I got last week, havn't had the chance to test it though. I saw a heli flew with the ds760, its unbelievable.
With the BLS251 controlled by ds760 your C90 will be a super flying machine. My ds760 with JR 8900 will be on My Vibe 90 (can't wait).
A Virgin No MoreI finally had the chance to fly the Lady in front of judges this past weekend at the 3rd Annual Tampa Bay Heli Classic. She's no longer a shy little virgin
I managed to pull some decent scores for my first contest in Class III, and with a new machine...at least I didn't zero anything..including autos
Unfortunately, I was alone in Class III at this event, so i can't say that I actually competed with anyone but the weather. I look forward to stepping it up as the year progresses towards the Nationals, and seeing what this machine is capable of, first hand.
I had the pleasure of Dwight Shilling taking an hour after the event to help me fine tune the engine and forward flight. When we were done, she was ripping up the sky with the best of them. Dwight even commented about how closely it flew to his own machines. That's the best compliment I could expect, for sure!
Look at the events forum for pics...sorry I don't have any videos. If someone does, please feel free to post em.

I cannot afford a c90, 3 times more than a Raptor 90, though i really like this heli, can anyone put my mind to ease that a Raptor 90 is not too a bad choice, why is the caliber so expensive

T-Heli,
Have you ever looked close at a Caliber 90? If so you would not have to ask that question. There is not one upgrade needed as the whole machine is of the highest quality you can get/buy. It is a beautiful piece of fine equipment and flys like it. Nothing wrong with Raptor but it is not in the same league. It is a sport/3D model and the Caliber is a contest machine. Any of the dedicated contest models are significantly higher priced and quality than most 3d type machines.

Question, is the Caliber90 worthy of 3D? or is it strictly FAI style?

just one question, what pitch range can you achieve?
You can 3D any helicopter if you set it up right. The question is, why would you 3D a $2800 kit? If you are super confident you won't be crashing much, I suppose go at it
With my current setup, I have a 23 degree pitch range (-10 to +13). You could get more if you change some positions.

Yukihiro Dobashi from Japan takes the Caliber and does 3D that is equal or better and as aggressive as anything you have seen and the Caliber flys exceptionally well. He is a factory pilot so price is no object but as Erich points out....why do you want to 3D a $2800 heli. It is designed for FAI flying. You can acheive 25 or a little better in pitch range.
