can you guys give me some more info about when you say your heli will pull 14' pitch with out bogging,do you mean that the engine does not decrease in speed at all or the engine does decrease speed but then holds at a lower speed

ain't no way it'll 'hold' 14. you can get it to respond for a small amount of time due to the momentum in the blades but you need to seriously manage the collective

mine can pull 14 deg no problem in a full pitch climbout. but your never really using all of the 14deg pitch at once doing 3d collective management plays a huge factor like z11355 points out

yes but does the engine load up and slow down in the climb out or are you saying it keeps the same speed,is bogging when you do a climb out and the engine can not hold the head speed and just drops lower and lower, when i climb out the head speed drops a bit but holds at a lower speed but stays constant???

I'm saying it bogs to it power band @ around 2000 (os50 peak power 1.7hp@ 17,000rpm, ie 8.5 ratio, 2000 h/s). It pops when you nail it but will keep pulling through until you let off or loose sight.

I think a lot of heli pilots read this stuff and think they can set there 600N up with this extreme pitch and go fly and have a nice time. Most pilots (myself included) would bog it badly with +-12 once you start yanking it around. Only a true expert could have fun with +-14 IMHO.

I have Nitro Pro +/- 13 1800 / 1950 head speed for hard 3D with no bog. it's all about collective management and good setting.

the top ends of the pitch are used for a split second in 3D flying. that shouldn't bog the engine. It always comes down to collective management.

Just do it.
