Check out this [relatively] new heli company. Lots of CNC made in house. (not made in China )

Looks promising! I know it's a gasser but I just wanted to know everyones' thoughts. Looks like pretty high end stuff and prices are on par with other comprable machines except more CNC parts IMO. From what I hear from the few owners (so far), parts are readily available in the US and in Asia.

I think is good, they do not have the mentality that is "if not invented here, it is not good". It looks like they did their research, and pick what works well from each of the helis that are in the market today

Its comments like this.

If they "pick what works well from each of the helis that are in the market today"
Then it isn't the best quality helicopter, is it? Its just a cheap copy thats made in the philippines.

Has anyone seen helical gearing in a gasser heli? The head is not a copy of Xcell head since maxum is using a specially molded rubber damper and it has a spherical ball bearing inside the yoke supporting the spindle. The top and bottom thrust bearing on the main mast are standard in this heli. The swash plate is also lubricated for life because they are using a brass bearing ball. The Main Mast is a hardened steel with electroless nickel coating.Unlike the single one-way bearing or torrington bearing which is commonly used by other heli brand, the Maxum employ's a dual one-way bearing on their main gear hub that's why it last longer. Maxum Heli employs stainless steel bearing, bolts and nuts for a lifetime rust-free maintainance

Based on this comment, I assume you have one and put it through the ringer?

I neither agree nor disagree with you since I've never flown one or even seen one up close. We need to be careful with comments like this because we may be steering someone away from a potentially awsome heli. In short, misinforming our fellow heliman which goes against the whole purpose of this forum.

Considering your argument that Maxum is just a copy of xcell why is it that it performs better than the latter? which is more cheaper?, I can tell that because I own and fly both machine. how about you? have you tried both machine and compare? hope that next time before you make some comments better take a look on every detail of the heli, better yet, you must fly both helis and compare. It doesn't mean that when it looks the same it is exactly the same inside and out. better open up your eyes and minds to new ideas and development of gasser helicoper.

one should not discriminate whether the product was manufactured in a third world countries because you never know whether your favorite cloths, car, machine or the like are manufactured in these countries.

Actually Imitation is not a bad thing in itself. Specially if there is INNOvation involved

Many of the rc helis we fly are in some form one way or another is an imitation of a previous design. The 611 gyro is an imitation of the 401 with innovation rolled into it.

Thus the maxum may be an imitation, but its far more superior now as an end product to its predecessors or competitors now

Just because they copy some of the features from some other helis, it does not mean that they are cheap and with no quality.

A Minair is cheaper than a Maxum anyway, look up the price.
Besides that, Ive seen the Minair, and although nice, and lighter, its not the same quality of finish in my mind. Just my opinion, and part of the reason I bought the Maxum anyway.
Seems to always be a lot of crap bandied about by people whenever a new heli comes around, and its always the same thing "oh yes, its a copy of a blah blah blah", without ever having seen one up close, or even doing much homework on it.
Besides all this negativity, IMO its always good to see new heli's, as us pilots then have more options on what to spend our hard end cash on.
This has to be a good thing for the hobby in general, or else everyone would be flying the same thing, which is really no fun, and never fulfills each individuals wants and needs.
Anyway, my day sux so far, so thats my rant over and out

If you bling it, they will come :D
