e-HeliDirect HDX 300-600 > Tail Belt Tension?

My heli WAS set up with a new 401 at my LHS. I take it home and fly it, the tail was wagging, I started playing with the gain settings, then after a while the heli started spinning, my battery puffed, I quit. NEw battery, no tail wiggle only nose left spinning. I am now convinced my tail belt lacks enough tension, how do you tell if you have enough belt tension??????

Thank you

What helicopter do you have? I'm not sure about the hdx300 buy for both the 450 and 500 it is as simple as ajusting the position of the tail boom. Pull it further out to tighten and push into the heli to loosen.

If you have the 450, at the front of the tailboom, with a mild amount of pressure (one finger is enough generally) push the belt inward.
If you can push it past half way across, its too loose.
Loosen the boom bolts and pull the boom backward a smidge, test again etc etc.
The 500 is a bit harder due to the belt being splayed a lot further out to go around the much larger belt pulley.
Same deal with pressure, push it in, and if you can push it further in than 4mm its too loose, adjustment is the same way as the 450.

If you bling it, they will come :D
