Since many of the mfg. are coming out with carbon frames, will Thunder Tiger redesign the Raptor to incorporate a cabon frame with ccpm controls?

Funny, the electric models look much advanced in design than the nitros!

I would expect that the new Raptor would be a nitro version of the E620.

Yes I think thunder tiger will come out with a new nitro heli very soon. They might even come out with mid size electric like a 500 size.

Just so you all are aware, the raptor is still HeliProz' biggest seller.

I would bet heliproz and Ricks has sold more Align 600's in the past few months than Raptor's,and would say the only limit of not selling more is the availability.

We did sell a lot of align 600's, but more raptor's. I have a hard time selling a 600n to a beginner/intermediate pilot. If they ask my opinion, I'll always recommend the raptor. They crash much better, and fly great. The 600N is usually demolished in a crash that would cost the raptor owner $200 to repair. It takes a pretty expereinced pilot to really appriciate any difference there may be in flight.

Im with you Brian about the Raptor crashing alot cheaper than the Trex 600N . The easier it is a beginner to get back flying and cheaper the longer he will remain in the Hobby .

Oh what a feeling flying 3D can be

MR10X,

I'm surprised you're back as they beat you up pretty good for continous TT bashing after having a couple of flights on a raptor. Gents what we have here is a typical two flight Troll (TTFT).

(by MR10X) Never owned a raptor,i was able to fly someone else's so i didnt have to waste my good money on buying one.

That explains alot, a flight or two on one machine and someone knows everything about the helicopter. Heli88, after reading a bit I think you have a valid point.

I flew someone else's 600n for a tank. I didn't 'feel' any real difference, with my intermediate skill set. Time to head over to the 600n section I guess.

My rappy v2 is down to 7lb 12oz these days, and dropping fast, so the 6oz weight difference can't be felt by my inexperienced fingers. Perhaps someday I will 'feel' the difference that eCCPM gives, but for now my Rappy 50 is the mainstay.

Having said that, the remaining stock parts on the raptor are like the frames and drive train. Everything else is Kasama or QuickUK.

I will be putting together an MA Razor 50 when they come out, but won't be touching the raptor because I know it works every weekend, with no teething problems. The highest quality parts I can afford are on my rappy.

Why get a 'vacuum cleaner' that flies the same 'to me' with crappier quality parts?

Does eCCPM really make a big difference if people are compeating and doing well in the 3d masters with raptors does it not make this thread nonesence everyone seems to think they are outdated which may be true to a degree but they are not bad helis and are well proven and do exactly what they say on the box, everyone knows how to build and fix them I would like removeable bearing blocks and thats it, except for a big price drop

Things I really like about the raptor
1. Mechanical mixing
2. Simple belt drive with no gears to strip
3. No gear meshing to adjust
4. Fly good even with any balancing
5. Cheap and durable frames and parts
Things I think the raptor(or a new raptor) should really have
1. Tail grip with thrust bearings
2. Removeable bearing blocks
3. Larger collective and cyclic pitch range
4. BETTER QUALITY stock bearings or alternatively, put in really crap bearings, sell the kit cheaper and tell us the stock bearings suck.
