This is to fit E-flite brushless motor to mesh with the Hirobo Chinook main gear to get the bird flying!

Anything with as little adaptation as possible needed.

I tried a Raptor 60 pinion gear, but it is for fatter shafts.

Any ideas?

Mill one out...I had a buddy of mine just drill one for me

I had a hacker A50 that used to have a 6mm shaft...my buddy was able to just drill one out for me...they also sell the 6mm .7 mod logo 14 pinions at esprit hobbies

I can mill one out, but any suggestions of smaller pinions I could do this too?

Pinions....

Not sure, but it seems that the guys around here running electric seem to lean towards the car guys/suppliers when they are in need of a special pinion.... not sure it will help you, but might be worth the look...

I think the problem you are going to have at .5 or .7 modulus at 12T is that a 6mm shaft is pushing the geometry of being able to fit 12 teeth around the diameter of shaft plus sufficient wall thickness for the pinion to be strong enough to cope with loads.

This is a .5 mod 13T pinion for a 5mm shaft you can see the problem



What modulus is the main gear?

It may be that you have to have the shaft machined down to 5mm

the logo 12T (and possibley miniature aircraft one which looks the same) pinion is near perfect.
Just need to drill out the 5mm hole to 6mm

logo 14 pinion

you will have no prob getting a 12t .7 mod pinion to work..

the min air pinions are 1.0 mod..they won't work


What mod is the maingear?
