I am new to the group so this may have been covered before. I have been given a rather old but unflown Kalt Space Baron. It all checks out OK except the blades. They are timber, 550 x 55 with a 6mm approx hole in the root end and a blade thickness of 7mm approx. There are no blade grips but there is bare timber where I think they should go. Also there was an ali washer under the blade as a spacer. Are there some bit missing ? Like a bush in the hole, stick on or bolt on blade grips as in Shuttle.
Are there any mods to make it take later blades?
I am in Darwin Australia so any contact in OZ would be appreciated.

I used to have the USA version of your heli and I used the
Century "Aerotech" 550 mm blades, which worked great.
make sure to CA the blade grips.
However the 6mm hole in the root end bothers me, since the original size is 3mm as are the blades mentioned above.

The 6mm hole is indeed strange, I still have one, although the frame is broken, and I don't fly it anymore, the hole should be 3mm, You should be able to use any 550 blades on it whit a 3mm hole

Notice that he said the grip had bare wood (Timber, grin) at the root. The blade is missing the plastic root and that is why it is a 6mm hole.

Any aerotech or similar blade with a 3mm hole in the root will be fine.

However, this heli is old and parts are rare. You might want to think about purchasing a newer heli instead of spending too much cash on this one.

You are definitely missing the plastic blade grip portion of the main rotor blade. There are two plastic pieces, two halves, like other manufacturers. Either get the grip parts from another broken pair (assuming the same airfoil and dimensions). Or just buy a pair of 530 or 550 wooden blades. I didn't see too many hobby shops in Darwin :=) Too bad I am in sunny Canada otherwise I'll send them to you. I am amazed that you can get fuel.
