Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > DX7 and CSM flybarless?

Hi.

Thinking about trying the CSM flybarless system.

Is 7 channels enough or do i have to change to a 9 channels radio.

Anyone using this combo?

I'm using a 611 gyro and multigov too, i know it's possible to run the multigov without the rpm select function so that would give me at least one more channel available for the CSM stuff.

Greatful for some help.

Thanks,

Andreas

7 channels isn't enough although you could use the JR matchbox which generates 4 outputsfrom a single input. Each of these has independent ATVs and trims so i can satisfy switching the 2 gyro modes/gains plus tail gyro from an aux channel mixed into the idle switch. The difficulty is the matchbox has no readout to enable you to set everything up. However, you could use the pulsewidth feature on a servo tester such as the Hitech HFP-10. But, it's all a bit of a PITA so you're better off using a 9 channel radio.

Hi

I'm currently using an FF7 for my flybarless raptor but as mentioned I have had to set one rpm and leave it. Ideally you would want 8 channels (both cyclic gyros on same via a Y lead). Overall I haven't found the 7 channels a problem so the decision is down to preference on whether you like different head speeds for different flying but its worth mentioning using rates and gyro modes you can get more flexibility from the setup with out the need to change rotor speed.

The Elevator and Aileron "flight modes" can be linked with a Y-harness and run from the Aux channel. IIRC, the aux channel only sets which pre-programmed mode is used, doesn't actually change gain... might want to look into that, but I believe it should work.
