For a company that has had practically the same rotor head/ tail rotor for over 20 years, I am surprised that they are coming out with much newer designs and parts.

What I want soo much should never hurt this bad

da_man,

I will agree with you. I was surprise that they are thinking outside the box.

Actually, you guys have missed the boat here....
Do you really think for a second that MA could compete with the chinese on small part manufacturing???
I have to give it to TIM, he stepped up the the plate and is doing some AWESOME carbon fiber machining.
However, this just isn't their baby.

In order to not miss out on the 450 size revolution, they are just importing this heli from Asia and branding it theirs.
They neither designed or manufacture it.
They just import and distribute it.

I will respectfully disagree with you. I do not think that I missed the boat.

1. With today's economy, and manufacturing approach, you or any company in the US can go to any company in china, an work out a deal in which they will manufacture your design.

2. There are several companies in the US taking this approach for their products, as well as companies in other countries.

3. You have an inside with MA; we were just reading what the company puts out on their web site, on the trade magazines, and what they show at the events. You on the other hand have more information than we do regarding this product.

4. I for one, made the assumption that MA designed the heli, but a company in china or in some place else is doing the manufacturing for them.

MA is the World Wide Distributor for this helicopter. Yes, they are branding it with the MA name but they did not design it nor manufacture it. It is completely Korean designed and made, how about that? I've been flying a Beam 401 most of the year, got two of them in fact.

I was a TRex flyer and walked into a shop where there sat a new Beam 401, one of the first 50 kits that came out. I liked the design so much I purchased the last kit he had and haven't looked back since. It flys much better than a Trex, more stable and nible. It tracks true. It is about 20 grams lighter than a Trex also.

I'm very pleased to see MA put thier name and reputation behind the Beam 401.

Tail Shaft takes undoing 5 screws.

1. loosen 2 on boom mount to reduce belt tension
2. loosen 1 set screw to remove tail hub
3. remove 2 that hold tail shaft bearing and slide out bent shaft.

This heli is produced by the company called BoSung in Korea.
Their main business is producing industrial brushless motors.

Here are more close up pictures from the company website

BoSung is the company that produces and sells Beam is Korea. It already has quite a following there. That means you can buy it now in Korea. Helis have been ready to ship but deals are tougher to work out I guess.

wow

I agree on maintenance for this looks super easy. The only thing I wonder about is the head. I have the v2 trex head with the hard dampeners. Would I miss the thrust bearings in 3d?

Tail looks 10 times better than the trex
