Dumb Question???????????

There are no Dumb Questions!!!

I have not been flying mine long enough to give you a "good" answer, but I am thinking that it would if you had a LOT of altitude!!!!!!!!
The head speed is not very high and I think that the second rotor head, being belt driven, will take a lot of power to keep it turning.... but I will be doing some low (VERY LOW) tests to see how it feels and if nothing else I hope to be able to at least "limit" any damage... I will tell you this though..... DON"T LOOK FOR "HANG" TIME!!!! From what I have seen so far.....

Stan

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!

Forget Rochester????????????

CHARGE do you really think I can ever forget that one!!!!

And yes you did have to be there for it.... my first "blade stop" auto!!!! Just that I didn't do it on purpose doesn't count, RIGHT!!!!

You know I have to try it out, and will be careful with it... it is just a NEED TO KNOW item....

Thanks

autorotate

actually they auto REALLY well!

I had an origional Hirobo vertol and did alot of autos with it....

remember,100% of lift is stored/used in the rotors with no waisted energy going to a tail rotor....

no need for any massive amount of altitude....

start off with hovering autos and have fun!

Hazchem88,
Thanks, the jet is an air-star Jetcopter with a Jetcat turbine engine that flys vey well.

Doorman,
Once again good luck with your tests this weekend, and thank you very much for your nice comments.

I love this sport you meet the greatest people and get to fly helis. What could be better?

Vertol, thanks for the info.... it will help throw that switch for the first time!!! And I was thinking more in the direction of the second head "eating" the energy, but your info helped to clear that up.... so on with the testing!!!!

Thanks, Stan

mpk000..... you didn't mention anything about a trade!!??!!

I thought you were joking about the trade. What did you have in mind.

Like Vertol said you will be surprised how well these heli auto. I have autorotated my Hirobo CH-47 a few times from medium to low altitude and the heli actually had a little bit of hang time before touching down softly.
