The larger the heli you go, the more stable they are to fly. However, the inverse is true on the cost to repair.....meaning, the larger the heli you go, the more it cost to repair them when you do crash (usually).
I think a TRex 450 would be a good choice for you. You'd learn a whole new side to RC Heli. Things like: how to setup CCPM, what is CCPM, balancing blades, fine tuning blades, gyros, etc.
Also, they're not real expensive when you crash (notice I didn't say it's cheap when they crash ).
