jascamera Veteran Location: brooklyn, NY
Guy,
Currently, running the Ve on 3 cell lipo with the C40 8L. WOnder if anyone tried with 4s with this motor? I currently have the Hacker Master 40 ESC, do I need a bigger ESC, what size pinion should I use?

the 8L has a KV of 3700 ... that might produce bit high rpm, would not 9L be better ? 3300 suits better ... but 4S should be possible.

You'd need a 12 or 13 tooth pinion to not go overboard. Even then, that's asking alot for the stock head.

Hello,
I'm flying a b408l with 4 v28 elements with a 16 t pinion. I'm flying at this time 5 minutes very poor but with 4 packs and a charger you can fly 2 hours if you want
I don't use lipo because it can burn and explode
Cheers

I'm flying my VE with 4S for a few days. My batts are Hyperion 4S 3700 and TP 4S 3850. Old batts... I found that 14T is good with very little head speed lowering at full pitch with the hyperion. With the TP it holds. At 15T motor was a little bit warm (70°C) with outside temp approx 12°. It had a lot of powers. 14T is better now to cool down the motor. I think that with fresh batts 13T is the one to go. My VE weights 1592g now, ready to fly. He is very happy. I will try new 4S 2500 to remove 100g
