UAV Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles > HELP! Auto Hover system for aerial photography

Does anybody know of a "auto hover" system which can be integrated into a current model helicopter, I am wanting to use my helcopter for aerial photography. My goal is to pilot the helicopter into a postion and then be able to flick a switch on my Tx and then have the helicopter hold that position until I am ready to take control. I see that there are some expensive UAV Systems available but to be honest not all of us of us can justify $5000+

NOTE: there will be buildings in the vicinity so IR type stabilizers will not be suitable.

Regards

I dont know how close you have to get to buildings, If all you want is hover assist, I would recommend the api2000
Cant be beat for the money.

Anyone want a pet rabbit?.............I found him on the road dead and I'm tired of hugging him

I second CJames. AP2000i would do what you are needing to do.

You are simply asking for the holy grail of stabilization. It does not exist for under $10,000. Cheaper for you to use a stabilizer like the General Laser Stabilizer or AP2000i and enlist the aid of a friend to watch a downlink monitor and trigger the camera. Might cost you a lunch and beer at most.

So what do you think guys, are the AP2000i system better and more realiable than the cheaper Helicomand 3A?

I would say, for me the most important thing is that i can have a support system that can help me near the ground for difficult landing conditions, wind etc, and a stable hover system that can keep the heli in position at heights from 5-20 feet above ground when shooting pics...

I know theres tons of treads about this topic, but no one really seem to come up with a good conclution on what REALLY are the BEST..

Maybe a pros and cons list on the different commons systems would be nice, i mean if one of the systems works fine on this field, the other works better on that, so to speak :-)
