First off fantastic cad work.. That is great

Secondly, seriously awesome looking head design. for me super mechanical looks good and thats a good looking head design +10 in asthetics department.

Third wow that made a head complicated, that looks to have alot of parts, more little tiny items to bend or break than standard

Just my initial thoughts.. How long before one or two are available for testing and validation?

**EDITED**
It also looks like if you over extend the dampeners capability or if they are slightly worn you will have metal to metal contact between the rocker and the head block and that is not a real good thing.

Looks great. How would moving the rotor disk further up affect 3D/Aerobatic performance? seems to me if the disk was further away from the center of mass it would result in slower rolls and flips.

That looks like a beautiful design. Is it available for purchase?

I think that your rotor head design is very interesting & I wouldn’t be surprised if the flight characteristics are very good once you have found the right stiffness of dampeners.

My only concern is that the continual flexing of the spindle will cause the spindle carrier to fail. The only current head that has a solid mounted spindle is the Hirobo Freya head & they have problems with the head blocks cracking.

Maybe you could bore out the through hole (in the spindle carrier) to have a bit of clearance on the spindle and then have a brass bushing pressed into each end to contact the spindle over a smaller area. This would then allow the spindle to bend without stressing the carrier.

Anyway Good luck with the project.

That looks like a really good design but I'm just having trouble visualizing the assembly and operating principles of the design. It could just be that I am not familiar with the contruction and operation of the stock raptor rotor head though.

What about a cutaway view?

i think it looks good, just needa see how it performs now... i do agree with toolman though, you may need something to keep the spindle from screwing with its carrier

Yes, a bronze bushing for the spindle might be necessary. Testing will show that.

If someone has access to a machine shop and want to make a prototype to try I can send the models (SolidWorks).
