I have an X-cell gasser with futaba radio system. I was using the Futaba 8uhp radio on 72.910. I have switched radios and that is all. I went to a Futaba 9zwc2 with the syn. Module. I set it to 72.910 just like the rx is. It works fine but will not pass the range check with the antenna down. I get maybe ten feet of range and that is all. With the antenna up I can get about 30 feet and that is it. Is it possible the module is not correctly on the frequency? Or is this radio a little weak in signal.. Help please I am going through withdrawl here......

I would check to see if the antenna is "wired" in the TX You should have no problems like that.

I checked the antenna wire and the tx antenna. They are all good. I wonder if changing frequency would help or not. Any idea?

Has the radio and rcvr worked w other models?Has the receiver or any other components been in a crash? Is the tx "off frequency"?or out of alignment?Does it do this on all frequencies?are you at 72mhz in Kuwait?

Yes we are at 72mhz here. An the only thing that was chaged was the TX. I upgraded from the super8 to the 9z. Beautiful radio.... If I ever get to fly with it...I don't have any other models to try it with. As the X-cell is my only baby. What do you mean out of alignment? Maybe I am missing something here...

If your radio is set to transmit at say 72.910,and its actually transmitting at say 72.925 it may be out of alignment.easy way to check it is to use a frequency counter.....or bring it to someone who knows radios and have them check the transmit frequency as well as the power output of it,if you suspect its the radio,
you may wanna borrow a diff futaba rcvr off someone and see if it'll work w your radio(just some ideas to help you save some $$$)
Is the radio set up to transmit in the same mode as to what your receiver is? FM or PCM?

Don't take chances, if you have checked all the above, send the rx and tx in to be checked. I just had the same problem with a 6mo old rx. I checked everything many times, couldn't find the problem, then sent it in. Turned out to be a bad rx, and got a new replacement (no cost). I'm sorry I wasted so much time before sending it in.
