Anybody know how much the Fury Graphite frame set PN#119-110 will cost?

whats the differece

Whats the real difference between graphite and g10. They are both black in color and have different apearences but why is the carbon frame an upgrade.

G10 is metal, Carbon is Composites.

I am wondering if anybody has tried putting an ST2 in the Graphite Fury, I am thinking of doing that, I am not ready for the 91 and the 80 is already in the other fury.
Should I try it??

Bottom Line

The benefit from carbon frames just isn't worth $250 for me. Its for the upgrade freaks not the flying freaks.

That's a little steep

For a Carbon frame set for a SE, CT, ST etc..., it is only $130.

Why are they charging so much for them on the Fury? I suspect one thing though. The Fury frames would have to be cut from a larger sheet of CF than the SE frame plates.

One of the worst parts to the carbon dilema is that pre-laid up CF plates cause waste when cut. The holes in the center are just dollars of material going in the trash. The older SE frame setup wastes less material when cut from a sheet.

There is those built-in threaded inserts in the Fury frame (that I wish were in the SE frame). Those do cost some $ to put in.

I build a lot of stuff from G-10 (FR-4 in electronics speak) and it's also known as phenolic. But the stuff is cheap and easy to get and compares favorably to CF plates of similar thickness.

But, David is right, CF looks ultimately cool!
(I would not buy white V-blades :-)

Carbon Fiber Woes..

Howdy!!!
This damn program keeps posting me after I type one word, hence the "Howdy" only post..
What I wanted to say was that Carbon, while cool looking, incurrs a lot more expense in manufacturing then G10. It's not just expensive stuff, but it is expensive to work with.. It is abrassive and eats up drill and milling bits. It also produces a choking dust, when cut, that goes everywhere, and the long term health effects of it are still unknown, but it is not the best thing to be breathing.. I don't blame heli manufacturers for wanting to get away from it. As a composit, G10 is a great compromise.....
