I've discovered what I am now considering for my little Eco 8 scale project to run with a 401.

While on the servo subject I would appreciate experienced opinions on choices for CCPM (currently stock 90deg plastic swash)

I currently have HS81s but considering upgrade necessity, and if so is an HS85BB accurate and centering well enough.......or perhaps should I look at a mini digital.....with perhaps the minor disadvantage of pulling more flight time off flight batt being digital, but with excellent centering? or is this just overkill for a scale project? except with the idea that this heli may end up lifting small loads on a strop for fun in which case HS85s should be fine I would of thought?

New 9257 below.

Hi Scot,

You are talking about your tail, right? You tail servo is one of the most important components! I've used the GY401 + S9254 for a very long time and is absolutly the best setup, period. But for my T-Rex 450 this ervo is actually to heavy. So as an alternative they mostly use a S9650. It works, but it is not made for gyro's and is does not give you the performance you need.

I've seen the new S9257 and this is the servo I'm waiting for a long time! I've not tested it yet, because I'm getting it within 2 days. I think this one is awesome.

But your Eco 8 is big enough, I do not understand why you do not use the S9254, is absolutly the best setup with the best performance. This servo is very very fast works absolutily great. Do tail slides, sudden throttle movements, heavy wind, whatever.... it holds rocking solid!

If I where you, I would use the S9254. It's not for random why you can buy this as a set. If you think it is to large, than absolutly without doubt go for the new S9257.

Good luck!

Tail servo

Yes I agree, re 9254, however I want to try to be conservative with weight on the boom as I will be fitting a scale body which means more weight to the rear, so if the 9257 is fast enough at .08 sec then thats the way to go - I see many dicussing gyros etc but not actually using a fast enough servo to keep up with the gyro.......more often than not it is likely the servo is the problem

Ok, good luck! Just let me know wether the S9257 works out for you on your Eco 8. I'm very curious about it, because I can use it for my information on further assistance at our club.
