Sometimes it all just comes together. Today I had some perfect weather, a nicely setup heli with a smooth running engine, and a fair amount of sim training behind me. Did my first planned auto, tail slide to backward loop, looping half flips, figure8 funnels (nose-in transition to tail-in funnels), and inverted circuits. Some weren't pretty, but I did it! Yeehaw! After setting it down after the last flight, I had this big grin on my face and thought "Man I love this hobby!"

I can relate to that feeling!!
On a much smaller scale though, I started my first half loops to inverted hovering. I love it!

That's one of the great things about helis-there is always something new to try or learn; following that premise--I have a VERY long way to go and MUCH to learn. Hehehe-I have years ahead for all the things I need to do yet.----One day at a time.

How in the world did you get by flying helicopters this long without ever doing a planned auto? I learned them before I started inverted.

Well it hasn't been that long. Only been flying about half a year, but gravity problems and other time commitments have eaten into that. Mostly I've been just been working on other things besides autos before putting it all together. I've been doing powered descents, baby autos and aborted descents before doing the full on thing. There's so MANY things to try!
