I'm seriously considering getting one, but would like to talk to someone who owns it.

Peter - you said you saw it...can you shed any light on particulars?

Thanks,

- Bill Ludwig

I guess its too late now

as you have ordered the Vario Jetcopter.

As it happens the only experience I have with the Hotcat is seeing it on the jetcat website. It looks a little odd, but knowing Jetcat, I expect it will fly beautifully and be a nice machine.

I am looking forward to seeing whats under the hood one of these days as their site doesn't give any details at all.

I have a buddy in San Antonio, he has one.......nice ship, had a few bugs to work out with jetcat/vario.......but it IS a serious heli. Large as well, and it seems to fly well. I wasn't as pleased with the new exhaust pipr they are putting on.it doesn't look like the one on the website. Attention to detail during preflight IS A MUST......but that is another story.........

The crash kit (as long as you don't toast the turbine, ect) is quite comparable to a top end 60 heli.....Josef does all he can to help a fella out.....
Guess when you spend 5K you get the "Millionaires Club" benefits ! You'll like your ship. I'm not ready to sell off my fleet to afford one. YET

Hi Bill , I have a Hotcat that I just finished building. I also own and fly the Jetcopter Sx. The Hotcat is a very well laid out and fast building heli. The mechanics of the heli mount to an aluiminium bottom plate that is laser cut , this bottom plate also is used to marry the heavy duty landing gear to the HP5 Turbine and also supports the bottom of the fiberglass body that has the fuel tanks molded into it.The canopy comes off quickly allowing plenty of access to important parts of the heli. The main rotor and tail system is Robbe and the blades are wide cord SAB's.The servos mount to the outside of the frames of the HP5 unit and allow nice straight runs to the swashplate for a 4 servo ccpm setup. Tail drive is aluminium torque tube and the tail fins are aluminium also with the Jetcat logo laser cut into them. The Canopy is carbon fiber and the body is white Gelcoat. The kit is very complete and the includes a CD rom with pictures to take you thru all the building steps. I had it done in three nites less paint. If you have more questions let me know.
Best regards,
Don DeSandre

Thanks for the thorough explanation of the HotCat, Don. I just purchased the Vario Thursday. Can you give me your opinion in a comparison of the two for me (now that it's too late!)?

Thanks,

- Bill

Bill you wont go wrong with either helicopter, the Hotcat is slightly more refined in apperance and has a more finished look. I have many flights on my SX without any problems. Make sure you fly with a friend so they can remind you to wipe the silly grin from your face after you fly it. Good luck with your SX.
Brg,
Don
