I am building my fury .60 (expert) and am having a little trouble with the clearance between the cooling fan shroud and the carb. Should there only be a few millimeters or so?????? Or do I have to modify the shroud...like shown for the .50 in the manual??? Thanks again!!!!

i had to shave a little off on my first Fury but that was one of the first kits, haven't had to do it yet with the new ones.

Fan shroud

I take a dremel and cut a large 1 1/2 diameter hole for the carb to breath freely. I have been doing this for all my X-cell for years. It improves performance noticeably.

There was no way my ST II would fit inside the Fury without modification of the fan shroud. I just cut a hole approx the diameter of the throttle hole. I made sure the plastic just didn't touch the carb, I don't think it really matters how close it is.

I did not have to cut mine. The engine performed well without any modification to the fan shroud.

I just finished putting the engine in my frames and yes, I had to cut the shroud around the carb. You lose one of the screws, but this is even detailed in the instructions...sort of an "expected" modification by MA, apparently.

I didn't have to cut the screw out. I just dremeled a hole above it. It allowed for the perfect fit.
