It is amazing to me that with the amount of unique and specialized equipment that is used in our hobby that not more of our equipment is discovered and returned to us. In my area the helicopter flying commmunity is a small one and only one LHS will do a consignment. Since my robbery I have been in contact with the LHS and keeping up with their inventory and have been going to all pawn shops to see if any of my stuff is being presented for sale. So far no luck. My question is where to these lowlifes unload all this stuff? It is very frustrating.

Ebay or they may even take it out of town to get rid of it. I have had stuff stolen and i always check local pawn shops with no luck.

They dont unload it, they buy a different canopy and fly it. 9 times out of 10 it's a fellow R/C'er maybe not someone you know but it's someone that flys.

That's why I etch my name, or place some other identifying mark onto damn near every part twice. Once where it is highly visible once where it is a little harder to spot. A sharpie works well on the belt. Make it so the bastard has to replace damn near every part, so as to not be spotted.

I would be pissed if someone stole my stuff and had the balls to fly it at the same field with a different canopy

like it was stated, ebay, or they take it out of town, maybe they tried to fly it them selves then crashed it beyond belief and just threw it out. maybe they now realize that something like that isn't so easy to sell. they may have a $3000 heli but if no one is willing to buy then it's junk to them.

Im sure that people split the stuff and sell the parts. Pretty much like car spares, very hard to trace..........

also check craigs list often in your area and around your area people sell stuff on there all the time that is stolen. i had a bunch of car parts stole off my drag car. the stuff showed up on craigs list and i got some of it back not all of it but some. ebay, search with in 50 miles of your location. it really sucks to have stuff stolen sorry to hear about it

Yep look on evilbay thats the thiefs favorite place and now craigs list is comming up fast since its free and they dont have to pay fees to use it. I had a enclosed trailer stolen found it listed on evilbay and craigslist turned that over to the police and they got the thief it was less then 2 miles from me.
