Align T-REX 600N 700N > TT gears and a 611??

Ever since I first saw the 600N I didnt think I would like the gears on the TT drive. Well today,in flight, doing fast, stopping piros, click, click there went the gears. Anyone got a good setup for the 601 to soften up the start and stopping power of the 601?

On another heli I have, the G10 version,I have a drifting problem with the 611. sometimes it does it and sometimes it dont??

Both are using Align 5.8v regs. with the step down.
I have a total of 7 of these gyros(611&601)with no problems on my 90s or 60s. The one that is drifting is new.

On the 611 I am running 15% delay at start, both directions. And 50% delay on the stop. I was running 30% on the stop, but Inkspot suggested to try 50% and it is much nicer to the heli. Your setting on the 601 should be close to that.

Thanks,I had those (D1IA&D1DA) set at 0. I guess it just kinda worked too good. It sure was a nice tail right up until the time it let go! I will try those settings.

Ive not had any probs so far and I'm doing some pretty wicked piro reversals with sharp stops. I also do a lot of piro hesitations and so far OK. I am running a CSM720 though

TT metal gears

My father whom lives across town has a close friend thats owns a full CNC machine shop, if the TT gears are tearing up themselves I wonder how a set of gears made from Titanium would work? would they cause to much friction, would they be really noisy or both? failing TT gears in flight is not something I ever want to happen! I can have Titanium gears made if I want, how do you think this would work? feedback please....Jim

I would like for the front ones to be stronger so the back ones strip. They are much easier to change out than the ones up front.

I wasn't asking if you wanted to buy a set jax, I was saying I can make a set for my personal use and was asking how RR members might think they would work and what performance can be expected, my opinion is that they would be very strong and run very true however the down side would be I believe they would be quite noisy and would probably strip both main and secondary drive gears do to not giving )ie. striping) in the event of a crash....Jim

I tried these settings yesterday and it seemed to work well. The tail didnt stop like hitting a brick wall but stopped when I wanted it to. I actually played around with the percentages some and 15 and 50 in both directions seemed to work very good. Thanks
