Gohbee Aviation Stinger 30-90 > Stinger 90 is a piece of sh#$!!!!!!!!

I have had nothing but problems with this thing from the start. It is three months old and has a grand total of 4 flights on it. The one way in the starter broke twice. (replaced with RAPTOR parts) The cooling is not enough for the YS. Blew motor twice running rich. The links are VERY tight on assembly. (Cause of my first crash) 4000 Mah Batt dead in one and a half flights. And now the main gear has stripped on spool-up. No kick of the motor or anything. It just went from spooling up to motor screaming for a second. I have heard that David Is a stand up guy but so far I have had nothing but problems with this thing. I bought it BRAND new in the Box from a RR member So to David it was not BRAND NEW. So everything I have had go wrong with this P O S, I have had to pay for with my money. I am Going Back to raptors . (Assemble and fly. No **** to hassle you with crap parts.) I guess this is what you get when you buy a cloned heli and expect the same quality. I am not even going to use this junk for spare raptor parts. Junk bin for the junk.

the oneway in the starter???? not sure what you mean there.

the battery going dead is not Gohbees fault, had to be some other drain on the battery to have that happened.

the main gear has to be meshed properly or yes it will strip and that was a assemble issue by you.

If the links were as tight as you say then they could have been re sized for a better liking to you.

The cooling fan on the Gohbee 90 works just fine, i have had 2 of the stinger 90 with no problems, and i have had 3 of the stinger 50s.

Hey I didn't ask for this fetish.!!!But I'am sure paying for it....

Funny you bring this up .I just got home with mine and you know what The main gear stripped in mid-air So you know where my 90 went ? I do DOWN about 100 feet . Now for the ones that are going to jump in here and say Oh the gear mesh has got to be set right ..Well ill tell ya this is not the first heli i have set up The mesh was right.By the way my one way went out on like the 3rd flight I also replaced with the raptor one .This heli has been a nightmare from day one.

By the way i do have the 50 and it is great ..I dont know what it is about this 90 but i fill i just tossed $500 and something out the window..

Sorry to hear about your issues Puffy but I have a Gohbee 30 and I luv it!!! Its my beater heli so inturn it gets the most flights of all 14 of my helis. Kinda a compramise between a Evo and a Rappy. And indeed Dave is a stand up great guy!!!! Wasn't for him I would not have my Gohbee (Thanks again Dave!!!)There are a ton of Rappys out there flying with Gohbee parts and vis/versa.. Parts fail, I have had my share of them.. Even new ones. Dont kno, again sorrys to hear abouts your issues. If you dont want the airframe no more maybe list it. I am sure someone would like to give it a new home rather then it being misserable in a junk bin

The one way on the heli. The 30's and the 50's don't have to handle the power of a 90 so there will not be any issues. and this is my fifth heli so I believe that I know how to set it up. The batt went dead due to the ball links not being very round and getting tight. If I spend x amount of money on something I would like to get some use out of it. How would you like it if you bought a brand new car and the tires were the wrong size and you got a speeding ticket because of it? All I am saying is that if you are going to sell a product to a bunch of picky and finiky people you need to have quality stuff. We have to be picky and finiky due to the safety of what we do. There is a safety thing here. I am going back to raptor.

send the crap to me..?

Why would you even fly with tight links? I squeezed a little on the links on my 50 and that sorted it out.

They were oval. Loose at 90 degrees and them when you would turn then a bit, they would get tight.

The one way bearing for starting was bad in mine when I opened the new package. Would catch sometimes to start. (bearing in the clutch).

As for the ball links,

Page 35 and 36 of the instruction manual. "Step 15: Size the Links." Step 15-1 through 15-4.
Full instructions on different methods used to size them. I thought it was standard setup procedure.

I have to agree with some of the guys. The links are totally on you. I have found that links, weather they be ball links or plane links, in most kits (planes and helis) arn't great quality unless you are paying top dollar
I have to this day never blown an engine from overheating. Maybe it died on me but never "blown". Mufflers/Fuel/Fuel line all can be a BIG factor in the engine overheating. I am sure you know all this but to blame the heli for engine problems isn't going to solve your problems.
Did you ever concider that the gear stripping had something to do with the helicopter crashing?
I wouldn't expect any company to replace broken parts after a crash.

Well im here to tell I had a main gear strip in mid-air yesterday. And it not only cost me alot of heli parts but i lost The Futaba 9253 Maybe the 401 its off hanging not sure if it going to work or not 2 Hitec 5625`s New carben fin set i just put on and 1 radix 690 blade was the 2nt flight on them And the canopy not the stock one but a nice painted one. Not counting the heli parts to fix this thing That i will not do ..I have had 4 raptor 90`s all used and never had the trouble i have had out of this 90 I had never had a NEW 90 so i thought why not the price is not to bad so i went for it .Boy was i wrong ..Everyone talks how Dave is a stand up guy well i going to find out. The Gohbee 90 might be a good heli for some but i really think i got a bad one i got 10 flights on mine and not 1 of them was a good flight.

Now i have a new Gohbee 50 and love it it fly really well and no trouble at all out of it ..
Like i said we will see how much of a stand up guy Dave is when i call in the morning Im not going to bash he heli`s i just got a bad one ...

Hi TDriver
I too have the 50 and love. I don't have a 90 so i really can't give any true advice on it. Where you in a bad place to auto it? I have had a couple gear failures on other brands and landed safley.

so it was for me.... Turner You do not know me or the troubles that I have had with this POS. While I do not mind your comment, PLease, if it is not benefitting the site, or a user, then don't say anything. I believe that if you "Do A SEARCH", You will see that I am not the only one with problems on a stinger 90. I will take the blame for the links. $495.00 mistake. But all of the other **** parts on this thing has made me come to the conclusion that a Raptor is better and will always be better. So thanks for your comments and go boost your post count with the ever soo famous "Do A SEARCH" somewhere else.

Thank You!

Puffy Im thinking about getting a Gohbee 90, but after reading about all the problems I'm afraid. Everyone keeps talking about Dave. Where is Dave? How come Dave wont get on the forum and address some of these issues? Anyway if you want to sell your 90 will you give me first dibs on purchasing it?

Soulreaper, Dave works at Gohbee. I am not sure what his "title" is but he replies to all e-mails and has always answered the phone for product support. So far he has provided great service for me.

I talked with David yesterday. I too will vouch for David, he is the reason I became a field rep, a very stand up guy. Anyway I told him to check out this forum. He said he has been extremely busy and would check it out as soon as he could. I can't say much about the 90 as I do not own one, but I have a 50 and am extremely happy with it. You can add me to the list if you want to just throw it away.
