Hi,
You probably know this already. It could be that the gyro is in standard rate mode and requires a REVO mix (less likely to wag but not preferred). If in AVACs Heading Hold mode then all tail mixing must be turned off.

Sadly I'm not familiar with gy401 Tx gain/mode send values, particularly on a Jr set, lets hope someone else can help here.

Is it an old H1 CPX or a new version X-CP (H2 battery tray layout etc.)?

I'd like more detail about the behavior you're experiencing

"Letting go" meaning the tail spins uncontrolled when you increase throttle/pitch/torque? Does it recover or keep spinning?

Hi,
Thanks it keeps spinning, on the ground and in spoolup it seems to work IE; HH holds but as the skidds become light it has no tail authoroity- thus spinning

Well if you're absolutely sure the rudder and gyro are operating the correct direction then check for gear slippage by holding the main gear to prevent it from turning and see if you can turn the tail rotor without much force applied - If it turns with a clicking sound then the gears probably aren't deeply meshed enough - If it turns smoothly and quietly then at least one gear is probably slipping on a shaft - If it won't turn then all should be well with the gears

From the first post it sounds like he has the tail/gyro trimmed for hover and when he comes out of hover the tail starts to yaw, indicating that the gyro is in standard rate mode without the correct REVO mix compensation (or a non standard set of curves). Or a combination of errors as he doesn't understand the Tx or the gyro. Like the gy401 gyro is not operating in HH/Avacs mode, I could be wrong but that's what it sounds like and don't know what numbers to suggest.
