Just wondering if I'm the only one who is enjoying RR much more these days over here on the 600n forum. Not to be rude but it's such a pleasure when every other topic isn't "why is tail wagging?", lol. I feel guilty but I find little reason to hang out in the electric forum these days. Anyone else feel the same?

I am sure we will start complaining about something and start picking on the small details "just as soon as we all get over the shock of the new 600N" Just got mine and I am still in aw. Love it!....Jim

I suppose when the 700 nitro rolls out sooner or later we'll turn our backs on this forum.

I take it both of you have the 600E?

How do you rate your 600E's against the 600N?

I haven't flown either, tommorrow morning will be my first flight with my 600N.

I bet the nitro outsells the electric 10 to 1. Despite what the electric fanboys will have you believe, for anything over 450 size, Nitro still rules IMO...

Lets hear it for NITRO...

Jagnz, I agree with you about the sales. The nitro rex will IMHO outsell the ERex this year. It will be interesting to see the second half of the year sales for both birds.

IDP, yes I have two electric 600's and now a nitro. I never thought I'd jump ship but as Bad and Jagnz stated for anything larger than a mini heli nitro rules! All of the experienced pilots have been telling me this in the year that I have been flying. As far as flight characteristics they are similar. You just get about double the flight time out of the nitro with 100% consistant power and much less headache and expense.

Hi guys,

i also owned a 600-E, i loved that heli, but to get the performance the same as the nitro you had to purchase those damn high-cost lipo's. And then you could get a 4 minute superb flight.

Well now, i must say my 600-E flew mighty nice. But i've sold it because i switched back to nitro. The 600-N is just a superb heli, in which i've allready forgotten about my 600-E. So that's why i sold the E and pre-ordered my second nitro ship, the Sport version.

Just my 2 cents.

Grtz,
Dirk

Yeah I have the E and the N, but since I've bought the N I havent even flown the electric. The Nitro is a BLAST to fly and being new to nitros it is the coolest thing to me. I was hesitant due to the fact that they are "slimmers" and are messy, but its really not bad at all and it worth the wipe down at the end of the flying day. The (constant) power is incredible and I am able to fly it twice as long as my electric. I just installed the "2 in 1" and man was that worth it...push the button, crank the starter and brrrrrrrr haha, no glow plug...its just too convinient. I really dont even bring that much more to the field than I do with the electric...Heli, transmitter, fuel jug(instead of a comparable weighted box of Lipos), starter, and paper towels...hands down the nitro wins for me! I am turning my electric into a scale heli with 5 bladed head, always wanted to do that!

Oh man, I enjoy RR every day no matter what. The folks out here are so nice, and very helpful. Lots of good information to read through.

I was going to buy a 600N, but with all of the negative posts here from people about the quality of frames, how weak it is in a crash, so now I'm going to buy a Century Heli instead.

Shle, a Century? Man is that a bad move in my opinion. Everyone on here likes to bitch (well, many do). And we come here to raise concerns and solve problems. So far I've had one problem with my Nitro that wasn't my fault (thrown magnet). The rest were all pilot error. My frames held up great. Are you sure you don't work for Century???

CENTURY??????????????????????????????
I flew a 600n today. No other 50 class heli on the market is even close. It flew sooooooooo nice and its set-up (layout) and part count is awesome, but you go ahead and buy that Century , if thats really what you want.

So How many 50 size helis on todays marked did you own?

Not to bash 600n,from what I've read and saw in videos it sure is nice rig,but never once it looked like it's a king of 50 size helis.
I gues I have to buy one
After all the bragging about 600e ,I ended getting one and trading it for Lepton 2 months later.Yeah,it flu nice ,but it wasn't THAT great. Not unless it was flown by pro, like JK,or AS.

Sold my 600E. The batteries cost WAY too much.

And they break easily in a bad crash. 3 sets of batteries can get me 2 new heli's!

Give us cheap batteries!

Not going to happen any time soon. Battery performance is improving slowly but the price is not dropping. That is why Nitro is king and will be for the foreseeable future.

I hear you. Batteries in the 10 cell rex died early in a flight yesterday. Was starting final auto anyway, shold have been no big deal. Had to land a way out in the field, did so just fine. When I got to it she had landed in a nice little temporary pond, only about 4 feet by 4 feet (from all the rain). All electronics and I fear the Neu motor dead (covered in water and green algea muck)and both FP 3700's were soaked. Would not have happened with the nitro, that's for sure. I just have so many more "unexpected" in flight events with the electrics than the nitro (not to mention the costs).

Crasher,

Sorry to hear about your 10s 600. Bummer. I love my 600N but I can't take it certain places because of the noise factor.

I have 3 600s, a 600n, a 10s 600E and a 6s 600E. I haven't been able to work on my helis or fly this week/weekend but in any case they're all down. I had a hard auto with the 600N and have to replace a torque tube gear (easy work). I'm going to be upgrading my 600Es to the Rotorworkz HFX frames and have both frames in stock. Just need to balance the time between building and family. You all know the deal. Plus my Neu motor for my 10s is back with Neu getting a bearing replaced. It'll take at least another week to come back to me. But I can get my 6S running.

I love my 600N and my 600Es. I fly them in different places and I like them each for their different characteristics. Sometimes I love playing with engines and nitro and sometimes they are a PITA. Same with electrics. When working well, it's just plug and play. When they're down it can get ugly too.

My 611 GYRO caught on fire with my 6s and I figured out that there was a short in the motor wires that was conducted through the CF and caused the gyro to literally catch fire, with yellow flames and no smoke. It was pretty scary but no harm.

Anyway, Futaba replaced it. I'll save the new 611 for another heli and try the Logictech 6100 I recently bought to "try it out".

Joe
