Align made 3 grips.

1st was the original for early 600E kits. Some started to crack like the one in the pic. The 2nd version was thicker but some problems appeared doing hard 3D. The 3rd version is the one shipped with the 600N its even thicker than the 2nd version.

the 3rd version is now standart in all kits

This is correct,,the new beefier grips have the same part number and are the standard fitment on all 600`s electric and Nitro

My Stratus has really beefy plastic blade grips. If the Align blade grips were this beefy, I'd reconsider but they're not. Like as has been posted earlier, if you're going to run headspeed past 2000-2100, I'd recommend the metal blade grips. I'm sure you could run the plastic ones but I'd prefer not to take chances. It only takes 1 bad incident. I'd rather avoid that if possible.

Stratus = 90 sized with 710mm blades probably?

If I saw a stratus with align's 600 metal blade grips I would run away. You can't expect to have same head structure on a 50 as you would on a 90.

I have an Evo 50 and the plastic grips arn't as beefy as align's 3rd generation and they never failed me in 2 years.

I did however put metal grips in my 600N... for the bling

I would go to metal grips on my Pro if Align would redesign a "failure point". It sucks to have to buy new grips if you bend one of the arms. For now I'll keep an eye on my plastic ones.

So what your saying is that the designed failure point in the plastic grip during normal operation is far more acceptable than having a stronger part fail when it impacts the earth.. Fuzzy logic for sure man..

You should fly Raptors, QUK makes an excellent line of Metal head parts that don't bend or break (for me at least) and I know how to pound a little Terra firma. The blade grips are stocky and aesthetically pleasing and you don't have to worry about failures in flight or with impact..

Man you worry about crashing way to much my friend.

Aluminum blade grips are not the fix all. They get damaged in crashes and are expensive to replace. They will also wallow out where the bearings go in and cause problems,a correctly designed plastic grip will take crashes better and if they are damaged are cheap to replace. There doesn't seem to be any failures with the plastic grips on the 600,but you do have to check them carefully after a crash. All your top end 90's have plastic grips, yes there are people that crash and have problems but they didnt check the grips closely.DOUG
