| Hi,
> Gluing the vertical fin on the tail boom seems like a weak way to attach it. > Is CA glue strong enough or is there a better way? You can get upgrade tail mounts though I've always stuck with the light weight CA and CF fin with a cable tie and sticky servo tape to hold the tail servo. If your worried about the fin breaking loose, just CA some 20mm of 2mm CF rod top and bottom of the boom to fin joint to give a larger contact area. In a crash the fin will more likely snap instead of the CA fin joint breaking. Take your pick.
> Some of the ball links feel a little tight. I have a ball link reamer but > this is a larger heli size. Any tips on opening out these links a little? If they are very tight the links may heat up and lever off in flight. Haven't had too much trouble, I just get brutal with them, pop on and off until I get the fit I want.
> And lastly the tail pitch assembly as a little too tight for my liking. > Is it just a case of careful use of sandpaper/drill bits to free up the holes? I bend the yoke square and open the yoke holes to more easily fit the tail grip pins and add some tri-flow synthetic grease to the yoke/grip surfaces. Otherwise the tail assembly is a bit notchy which can effect tail smooth tail response. There are a couple of areas to may be fiddle with on the tail, check the links and info on my messy tips page here.
Track down and knock out all the vibes, then tune the setup and numbers to suit your skills and flying, you'll find the Hornet and exciting great little performance micro.
Good luck. |
