Here are some mod’s I made on my Vertol. I have the old original one so some of these may already be done on the newer version. I made a fiberglass plate for the rear landing gear in place of the metal one which will bend in a hard landing (like a blade strike…lol).
It’s stiff but still has some spring to it. I also replaced the flimsy aluminum rod for the collective with a carbon rod and also made one for the throttle. I installed a Dubro 2oz. header tank which gives about another 2 minutes of flight time and its a little closer to the engine. And I change all the z-bends for balls links.

HRC thanks for sharing the pics. I have never seen one of the older mechanics. That thing looks really cool. Do you have a fuse for it?

Dan,
Yes, I have the fuse for it. I purchased this kit new about 4 years ago from Dan St.John off of Runryder and I just got around to building it. A friend of mine got one about 17 years ago and when I flew it back then, I knew I had to have one. I was hoping to have it done for the Nats but that isn't going to happen this year so I'm shooting for IRCHA. As far as I know, there is no difference in the fuses between the old version and the new version kits...other then you can get it aleardy painted now. Mark
