Alright Juan and gang. I took some video about a year ago of my SS in action just so I could show you guys. I edited it WAY down to make it as short as possible but left enough that you can get the jist of its capabilities. You will need to turn your volume up a little so you can hear my voice. This was taken in my yard and it is almost completely surrounded by trees. Perfect to show it getting in and out of tight spaces. I show a takeoff from my lawn, my takeoffs on a hard surface are quite a bit shorter, but because of the drag the grass creates it took a little more turf to get her airborne. Still, not bad. I show how I use the plane to snap some stills, amd then I land. Check out the shadows on the trees when I come in for a landing. I hug the trees pretty close. .
Everyone is different, but for my personal tastes, I want SLOW!!! This video was done with all camera mount and equipment on board and you can see just how slow I can get this bird. When I am shooting pictures in this video it is done with power off and gliding. She performs like a dream.

Go to this link, scroll down to the bottom and you will see the "Slow Stick Demo" link. Click on that.

Just got back from the field, It was perfect!!

Flew FPV for 15 minute, no surprises, super stable and floated great!

Landing was perfect also.

Apparently it was the CG. I moved it about two centimeters back.

Managed to download the file. Thats nice, thats about what mine needs to take off. If mine continues flying like it did today at the field I'm totally sold, my heli will become a video only ship.

OK, guys here's the deal. I zipped it up and put it on my site for download for those of you who aren't able to view it online. Juan, I just do everything on my site so as not to have to keep track of so many things. I have a couple different build pages on my site and its just way easier to keep everything in one central location for all the various forums that I post on. Anyway, if you guys can't view it online, just download it and unzip it and it should be fine. In a simple 12.6 meg wmv file.

Glad to hear you got that video Juan. I have had a lot of people ask me to post something like that and you were just the catalyst I needed to get it done. One word of advice my fine friend. Actually 3 words. Fly Fly Fly. The more you fly and get used to your SS the more you will wonder how you ever got by without it and you will know why most of us on this thread are so stoked about this killer plane. Glad to have you aboard dude!

Hey Kevo,
Downloaded fine for me. SWEET slow flight. I had fun today and thrashed mine around in some pretty good wind, which was fine since I finally added ailerons. (setup as flaperons) Funny thing after landing and coming to a complete stop, the wind picked it up and flipped it over backwards. Then I extended the flaperons up for more drag and it handled much better on landing and on the ground. Probably won't be necessary when I put some more weight on it. It's coming along.

Hey Tip, I absolutley LOVE flaprons and had them on my Big SS but had to choose between them and my AP2000i. The stabilizer won't allow for Flaprons as there is no config for it in the settings. BUT, I guess the new FMA copilot is suppose to be able to be configured for flaprons. I love my AP2000i but I think the copilot is better suited for fixed wing.

OK Gang, this is what can be done with a Slow Stick if you have the proper tools and nothing but time on your hands. Or else you could just buy the kit.

Do you have an extra channel where you can run flaps seperate from ailerons? I'm setting mine up that way so the AP2K will work.

I'm leaving for a job now, I have decided to use the SS because there seems to be enough space for take off and landing, It will require FPV flying beceause its quite a big area and they have asked for pictures from the four corners of the construction site, I plan on doing all the shots in one flight.

Troy, Yes you can set up an extra channel for flaps. The problem then is you have to ad more servos, and you have to split your ailerons or add flaps which means more weight etc etc. This is the reason Flaprons were so attractive to me. I like flaprons better because on my Big SS I have my ailerons running the full length of the wing on each side. The response from the TX is insane even at slow speeds. A few months ago I split them and ran flaps on the inside. I lost TONS of control on my ailerons which is exactly what I feared would happen. So I ditched that plan and went back to full Ailerons.

JAUN!! Dude, let us know how your shoot goes and post some pics please!!
