I've notice a problem with the TR blade grips having approx 1-1.5mm play on the Tail Rotor Hub. If you grab the grip you can really visually confirm the play. Now, I've done some searching in the Trex E600 and it appears that it USED to a problem before they started using the thrust bearings(correct me if i'm wrong) in the Nitro.

Did anyone else notice this problem? Solution?
Defective blade grip maybe?

Thats not a problem at all.

The thrust bearings will have some side to side play as the thrust bearings are unloaded.

When it spins up the play disappears.

Its a normal beahviour in a thrust bearing tail

I agree. I've seen many posts about the same thing with the quickuk thrust bearing tail for the raptor. Eventually someone posted a detailed explaination as to why the play is normal and has to be there, he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. At 9 or 10 thousand rpm under load I believe there is no play at all.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

I figured that kind of play on the tail would somehow impact the performance of the tail.

Check out an EVO 50 tail if you want to see side play. When its running everything loads on the thrust bearings and everything is fine.

probably not, but its been normal on furies and other thrust bearing heli tails for years
