e-Gaui Hurricane 200 & 550 - EP100 > Battery Options (trex600 22.2v, will it work?)

I already have a trex 600 that i love but im also looking forward to the trex 500, but it seems like align is taking forever to even give info on it. So the hurricane is an option for me. I also have 2 trex 450s, so using 2 11.1v 2100 batteries is no problem. However, im wondering if the hurricane would be able to fly with the 22.2v 4200 trex 600 batteries and 550 blades on the stock motor?

From the post I've read the stock motor struggles with 500 blades, let alone 550's. You would have a real c of g problem with a Trex600 pack plus you would have to modify the battery tray (i.e. remove it and make a new one!) to even fit it. Using a decent motor around the 1100kv mark and 2500 3S packs seems a good setup.

a T600 pack is too heavy for this heli. A 6S 3300 pack is about the heaviest thing that can fit and allow for a normal CG.

The ideal battery (for weight and duration) for this heli is 2 packs of 3S Flight Power 2500's.

The kit motor is a good sport flying motor. Gaui spec'd it to allow for 6 min flights on 2100mah cells. As a result it is a bit tame for 3D. Most 3D guys are flying Z-Power Z30-1100.

I'm using a Makita drill pack li-ions. 6S1P 3 AH. CG is right on the money. 12 min run time. Motor works fine for a learner like me.

These are the 18.5 volt packs from Home Depot. These are 3.6 volts per cell. Lipos are 3.7. the A123s are 3.2 I believe. I use the FMA Balance Pro which is for lipos. Bought three packs and made two six cell packs and with the leftovers, made 3 cell 1500 MA packs for the foamies which I use the Triton on lipo setting to charge. These are much safer than the lipos. Don't need a safe, etc, to charge. I use the same packs in 40 size planes too. CTC is supposed to carry them too but they're never in stock here.

$119.00 bucks a piece. These are a little heavier than equivalent size lipos. Forgot to add they are fast chargeable too. Can be charged at 2C. I charge at 6 amps on the Balance pro. and 2.5 on the Triton, as that is the max charge rate for it.They're charged in 30 to 40 mins. Lost a pack in combat in a foamy, got flung out into the bush for two months. Was down to 3.5 volts. Charged it up and flew it in the same plane. As you can see, they're not quite as fragile as the lipos. In the 40 size planes,I don't take them out of the plane for charging, as you should do for lipos. They don't need a balance charger either, as they self balance. When they come from Makita the charger doesn't balance them. I check them once in a while after charging and they always show within 1/10 of a volt of one another. As my lipos poop out they are being replaced with these.
