Align T-REX 600N 700N > Engine vibe in 600n

I need help with my new 600N. I notice in a hover that my exhaust shakes and my tail shakes up and down. I have checked and changed the torque tube, main shaft, spindle shaft and i still have the vibe. I think it is an imbalance somewhere in the drive train. How can i trace down the culprit. I had the same engine in my R50 and had no problems.

Are your paddles at equal lengths on the flybar?? if there at different lengths you can get this up and down movement on the tail

Tell us that you've balanced your tail rotor system, the main rotor system, and the flybar.

If you haven't, do so.

i never balanced anything on my 600n and no vibes at all. did you space out the bearings on the torque tube so its not the same measurement on them. all 3 spaces between the bearings should not be the same

I am confused. Is there not just one bearing on the TT. The instructions said to offset 5-7mm from dead center.

the torque tube is set up by the manual and all shafts are straight. At idle i notice that the tail supports and the tail linkage vibrate erraticly.

Is there any point to using a DPI on the 600N? There is no real way to adjust the fan hub, and the start shaft fits into the clutch via a one way bearing. If you shim the clutch to get it to .001 of an inch what happens when you remove the shaft from the clutch? Will it still be within the .001?

Try a different set of main blades. Sometimes a set of blades can be funny depending on the machine.

ckoelliker..Yes it's always worth doing if at all possible.

You can usually loose a few thou's for example by just rotating the hub to a different position on the crank or turning your clutch shoe through 180 deg, even using the tiny amount of side float in the clutch bolts to hub helps..

Also It's not unheard of to even use a well placed bump as a last resort for minimial fine tuning!

If it's really bad you can also try shimming with aluminum foil between the washer and fan hub. Not sure if it will work on the 600 but I've done it in the past with Raptors and Evos.

I understand that, but the start shaft is not permanently mounted to the clutch. It goes into a one way. So how do you know if you putting the start shaft into the one way at the exact same position as it was when you used the DPI. As for the fan hub, I gues you could flip it 180 degrees, if you can get it off the crank shaft.

I would certainly check the balence on the fan and clutch seperatly and then together.Theres no real adjustment that can be made but balence is posible.A simple prop balencer does the trick.

Exhaust deflector nipples vibrate with the pulse of the combustion so dont use that as a guage for vibration. but the tail vibration is something you need to take care of.. Most cases a really fast vibration is associated with engine, or tail problems.. A slower oscillation is usually associated with an imbalance in the head. without seeing or hearing it it is hard to provide too much assistance on it.

Yer mine was a slow vibration and dissapeared once I raised the head speed , think its because of the stiff black head dampers

if he is getting an up and down movement on the tail thats would be either the head is out of balance or tail or the head speed is to low,
I dont think a out of balanced clutch would make the tail up and down more side to side
