After long waiting finally here it is.

With the help of one of our Pilots Kim Jenses, we made the Electric conversion for all Robbe Millenium's( 1-2-3) and as well for the
Dyna-EX.

Since high voltage ESCs introduced, and the quality of Lipos beame higher , demand for electric helis grew constantly.

every one dreaming about High performance 90 size heli, without the noise and this is where the Electric conversions are taking place.

Conversion Kits are avaliable from Stock, all components are avaliable individually as well.

About the conversion.
To be used on Millenium/Dyna-X helis. We didnt develop for Nova and SE, possibly it will be next step, not yet planned.

What we used and Advantages.

- Actro 32-3, possible to use other motors like Orbit, and if there are others in same specifications, its also possible. Actro is Way cheaper and Lighter then Plettenbeg.

- ESC, we used Jazz 55-10-32, and all higher class like CC85/110, Power Jazz will fit as well.
tests was done with 10s, 13t pinion, reported RPM 2000.

- We made quite high range of pinions, from 8t till 13t, shaft diameter is 5 and 8mm where possible( 8-10t is impossible to make with 8mm shaft, there will be no "Meat" left)

- Packs, we used 10s 3700, but most packs 10-12s 3700-5000 should be just fine. Millenium has a LOT of space in frames, so easy to go.
Another Small advantage is, most of us have packs from previous helis, like 6S from Trex 600, then all needed is just extra 4 -6s same capacity/brand, and you just connect them in serial and you have the right pack.

- Packs Location:
Millenium-E: packs can lay in frames, if using 2x 5s, then they will be laying serial way, e.g one after other( see picture).

in Dyna-EX packs can lay on the side of the frames , and even Higher if using self made plate for battery. this will allow High CG which 3D guys will appreciate, it will allow very nice rolls.

Weight: Millenium weighted around 4.4kg RTF, not bad. even compared to Glow.

Modifications.
-Some modifications needed, very small cut in the front frames, and couple of 3mm holes needed to be made. in carbon frames its way easier, but using dremel and drill with metal frames should not take longer then 20 min. all this explained in the manual.

Hope this info is valuable, i am planning to build my Dyna-EX and see it flying.

Just some back ground info.

I have flown Millinium since 2003. It's extremely fine flying qualities, maybe/probably due to the 88 control system, got me hooked. Raptor 50 was sold very short after:-)

The Dyna added stiffness and a great simple frame design. As a consequence I flew Dyna from 2005. I have tried many models since, maybe some fly just as good, but not really better.
The Milliniums stayed in the hobby room, but only the Dyna was used. Also for 3DM 2005.

Then local noise restrictions came along and I started looking for some E-model. Tried several, but only the Fury Ion seemed attractive when it came to flying properties and quality of components.

Then, just for fun, I started removing Millinium parts which are only required when using IC engines. I was surprised how many that was. The weight was terrific! Further more, the only really new component needed was a motor mount. My search for an E-model was over.

Alex agreed to produce prototype motormount and I had the Milliniums waiting. My focus on low weight caused me to order the 3700MaH Flight Power packs. I chose Jazz 55-10-32 Controller because it simply works superb. The spec's are on the low side (but maybe more honest that many others), and it has a smooth 'cut off' functionality which make it 'safe' when you hit the limit. I have not felt/hit the limit so far. A friend has measured well beyond 100A in peaks! Actro 32-3 runs almost same speed as 90 size IC engines, so even main gear can be re-used. Finally the Actro handles 12S also if I feel the need at some point.

After approx 10 flights it was clear that power is very similar to my Dyna ( i can only afford 10% nitro). Globes can be made bigger (the torque is awesome), while but some quick manouvres feel less powerfull. It should be mentioned that I have KO2123 on the Dyna while I 'only' have 9351 on the E-Millinium. I will change that soon.

After approx 30 flights my focus has totally changed from low weight to the fact that all the millinium parts which are no longer needed, were also the parts causing issues on the Millinium. No more clutch aligning, no more cooling duct fitting, no more tail servos dying due to exhaust oil penetrating the servo seals. As a consequence I now use Flight Power 5000 V-Power which provide safe 7 minutes of 3D. The RTF weight is now 5kg, but the increase in weight suits my style very good. Further more the packs are far from hot after each flight. Better than the 3700 packs.

I am really satisfied about the project. I now have the Dyna and the E-Millnium which share the same great flying characteristics I appreciate so much. The Milliniums which were only gathering dust in the hobby room, are now actually very interesting to bring to the field.

Hello the guys!!!

I'm happy, I tested the millenium with the actro 32-3.
Thanks Alex, your kit it's good.
The milli is the best in the version.
I go order the necessary for the dyna X but I don't the spacer for the motor support, are you?

VIDEO

Hi,

I make a video with my girlfriend.
This video is the result after 8min of fly. This fly in end cap batterie (8...13min). The total autonomie is 15min.

It's my 4° fly with the milli E.
It's very good.

Finally I managed to get a video done from a flight some time ago.
I am new to this video thing, and unfortunately I have still not found a compression method which keeps the sound (any hints on this would be appreciated) But in spite of the missing sound, the low picture quality and the novice camera man, I hope you can get an impression of the model in the air

In this video it is flown smooth and easy.
Since the video was recorded the model has been upgraded with KO Propo 2123 on the pitch and the Mille 3 mixer arms. That really did a big difference. It can now be flown much harder. Maybe that is also why I have been able to hit the limit for the 55-10-32. I have now experienced how it can cut-off when overheating. It does it smooth, allowing you to safe the model, but still a bit annoying.

I use 'only' 10S 5000mAh V-Power, still the model is surprisingly powerfull. As I wrote in my first message manouvres like piroloops/globes can be made bigger than with my 90 IC Dyna. I hope the piroloop in the start of the video demonstrates that. Incredible torque. For this flight weight was very close to 5kg, or similar to the new Ion2.

Ok, thanks,

But what the setup controler? You do not used the actronic, then the manufacturer advise a timing 5...10° max and a freq. of 16KHz. The result is that the motor less hot and best perf.
Are you test this setup on your controler ?

I have not tested any settings different from standard. I do however know, that I (in peaks) draw more than 100A, which is close to twice the nominal rating of the jazz 55-10-32. So I guess the job is a little too much for the jazz if you really push it. This small ESC does however perform very well, and in spite it is small on the paper, it is recommendable for most use.
