technically the dealer didn't screw up, Vario failed (time and time again speaking to many customers) to put the right parts in their kits.

More missing parts

Still not finhished building my XLV. But already 2 wrong parts and one missing in the box. After to weeks complaining, I still miss the center hub. The linkages was also far to long. But that is an easy one. I am new to Vario. And really looked forward to build this awesome heli. But I must admit that Vario disapoints me. Have never had missed parts with Kyosho, TT or Align.

Still looking forward for first flight!

I agree that Vario makes a really nice product. They can engineer a beautiful machine but fail to bag it properly which seems really odd. The dealers get stuck with the cleanup and makes me wonder if being a Vario dealer is worth the effort. Although I do appreciate Joe Howards efforts, I don't excuse Vario. Something simple like a check lists for making up a kit seems out of reach for them.

I had no problems building my Benzin Trainer. Everything was in the box, bags properly numbered according to the pages of the manual.

Finished building a Raptor 50 two weeks ago. The parts weren't properly bagged. I still remember my frustration about the tailrotor assembly being bagged in 4 seperate bags, where 2 of these were packed within a bigger bag with spare parts, and other stuff which had nothing to do with the tailrotor. This is just one example of many....
There were also a couple of things wrong in the manual; a beginner would have easily made some crucial/costly mistakes.

Please don't ask to make a list of all that was wrong with this kit. I just want to forget the agony and frustration and get back to flying and looking at the hot chicks in the "Hot girls thread"

There is no such thing as a perfect kit I guess

It is not a perfect world we live in. As long as a company is ready and willing to fix the mistakes they make. That is good as it gets these days with any company. Vario is there and ready to fix whatever issue that might come up.

I agree that it happens with other kits. I'm curious about the numbers though...how many XLV's have shipped missing parts? I assume it's a very limited production kit which makes me think it'd be less likely to have errors. My items are pretty much the same as what I've seen listed by other XLV owners.

But, the XLV is built as Joe had the missing parts to me in a reasonable time frame.

You're right. It seems strange, because we all know how meticulous Germans are. I'm NOT calling anybody a liar, just saying it's strange.

At the field we have 4 or more (don't know or see all 134 members) Vario flyers. I have never heard anyone complain about incomplete kits, wrong parts or anything else.

Of course, like all Dutchies, we complain about the costs of the kits and parts
But, we do understand that Qaulity (capital Q) comes at a price, especially the Vario scale fuses, drewl, drewl

Finally all missing parts arived from Vario. The set had several missing/wrong parts in the XLV set. Even bolt dimmensions didnt match the drawings. But Vario did a good job sending new parts as fast as they could. Thank you. I believe this is vario substandard. Looking forward to learn more about the "Varioworld"!

I have had to make probably 10 calls to my dealer over the span of my vario bell 204 with benzine build. Finally a year later almost got er done.

I have just built my second Vario, the first had no parts missing the second a couple of minor bits(bolts & a fuel tank fiting) missing, the point is people do make mistakes, even the efficient Germans and kits may not always be complete but the way that John at Vario Uk dealt with my problem was exemplary, and surely that is the point. A quality product that comes with quality aftersales service is something I am willing to pay a premium for.I have recently built a Trex 600N with carbon and aluminium everywhere, nothing missing in the kit, went together beautifully, but I have to say IMHO the quality is not as good as Vario's(but the instructions were much better )
