Hi Guy'

I add a bit of time to start building the Hind, because of a ruff landing with my Hughes 500D, I am waiting for some parts.

For now I did a ruff prototype of the gears with some piano wire, in the future I will be working on a more scale set.

There is a member from ScaleRCHelis manicmetal or Tim that made a trip to heli museum at weston-super-mare with family and he offer me to take some pictures of the Hind on is visit so it was hard for me to refuse.

By the way Tim a big thank you I realy appreciate.

The first step I did was to cut the opening of the doors and to design the basic former to received the mechanic,

Here is a couple of picture of it

Hi guy's

I worked a bit on the Mil

I epoxy the boom on the main fuse, I install the push rods for the tail rotor, and I did some wood work, I have a problem with the retracts I don't have the good angle on them when I try to put the doors they don't close correctly I will kneed to redo them

Here is a couple of picture of the progress

Hi Guy’s

Since a couple of weekend I did some flight test on the Mil and on 3 flight out of 4 I add some very bad resonance on the fuse to the point of ungluing the floor from the bottom of the fuse and to eject the 2 side wings at a distance of 10 feet.

What is the principal cause of resonance can it be the flex drive that is not well supported or a head speed that is to fast?

A BO105 (Graupner) at our field suffered from similar massive vibration in the tail to the point it was actually flapping a couple of inches at the fin! The problem was found to be a combination of an out-of-balance tailrotor and a drive wire which was not exactly centred in the tail coupler. This was remedied with some careful modifications by the heli's owner and the model now flies smoothly.

Hope this helps

After seeing oder guy,s experience with resonance, I can see that my fuse as a couple of problem that I have to fix.

possible cause

flexing of my flex drive, rotor RPM to hi, and the wings add to much flex with the way I mount them.

So I am back to the drawing board, to correct dose issue

A great build in the process there, congratulations!

Incidenatly, I recently saw a full size one of these at a UK air museum {Helicopter museum weston super mare UK] and it amazed me just how big these helicopters are in real life. Also that as well as being a gunship it also carries troops and the side window on the full size have brackets for holding outward facing troop used weapons.
lastly, because you can up close to the machines at the museum, it possible to look into the cockpits of the pilot and gunner. It struck me how full they are with mulitudes of switches and controls and also how restricted the pilots view is.

Awesome machine and awesome model when completed no doubt!

Hi guy's

My project is not dead.

I was finding that when making my lay up it was very hard not to have to much resin left in it, so I did a bit of recherches and found that the best way to go would be to use some vacuum bagging technic.

I build my self a vacuum pump with the compressor that came out of a drinking water machine. with that set up I am able to press every thing to 26 in hg.

Here is a picture on my set up

My first try is on the side wings I am very impatient to see the end result.
