I bought it in Japan. Had the chance to have a colleague go there for a business trip. All the shops in Tokyo have it.
http://www.ishiimokei.com/ (will ship international)
http://www.rakuseimodel.com/ (Japan only)

Price is about 32000JPY (about 300$) incl ESC and motor. If you look at the the price for motor + ESC on Hacker European web site it costs already more that the complete kit

Super VE 4S is flying!!

OK I am not working for JR but...
I have been the happy owner of a "3S" Super VE for a couple of weeks now.
However, since I had most metal upgrades on my old VE, my 3S Super VE looks very much like a 4S one. (not sure about the exact content of the official 4S SVE but looks very much like a 3S SVE with metal upgrades).

So today I gave it a try (in my garden so only hovering unfortunately)
2200 rpm, 20A and throttle was "only" around 70%.

Looks promissing

PS: on the DPR graph: green=battery voltage, blue=current, pink = rotor rpm

hello everyone, I couldnt make it to the hobby show in Makuhari this year, Im very interested in the new Voyager E but I know very little about it, for starters what are the diameters of the main shaft, spindle shaft and tail shaft? How many teeth on the main gear?

I have a QoJ EP8 EX. Quick makes some upgrades for the Voyager (probably older version) heres the most expensive upgrade,

Super Voyager E conversion

Just to share. I'd just completed my Voyager E conversion to the Super version. The conversion kit I'd ordered from Ishii Mokei arrived yesterday. Spent the entire afternoon to complete the conversion. Here's the photo after brief test flight. The test flight was satifactory, though I'll need to dial in further. But most noticeable is this Super version does no longer do the "chicken dancing" as seen on the old Voyager during spool up. Overall it feels much stable now as compared to the older Voyager (which for some reason I usually end up crashing it in every flight). Overall i think its worth the conversion. I'm glad I did not tossed the old voyager into the trash.

twinring,

I'm at office now and cannot supply the exact measurements
of the diameters, but you can use most of the upgrade parts
for older VE from Quick of Japan, such as the swashplate,
mainshaft bearing blocks, main rotor grips and arms for the
head. SVEs use the same tailrotor shaft as the older ones,
and some are afraid that the whole tail system is not strong
enough with its plastic parts and 3mm shaft. The QJ upgrade
tail system with 4mm tailshaft can be used to replace the
stock one with, if you don't mind making its heavy tail even
more so.

It seems that QJ has started to produce new upgrade parts for
SVEs, though not many have appeared on the market yet.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Akira,

I just want to know if the SVE can handle 6s. 3s seems like to little for a heli of this size.

twinring,

I've read on a web page that somebody in Japan flew
the stock SVE ( with different motor and ESC ) with
5S or 6S batteries and had its tail shaft broken in
flight. The flyer also says that the plastic head
parts are not quite up to the task.

Others are trying to make their SVEs less heavy,
using smaller servos and 3S 2500mAH packs instead
of recommended 3S 3300mAH packs.

JR is going to release a 4S version toward the end
of this year. The 4s version will have metal head
parts and tail case with a thicker tail shaft.

Hello Muah, the conversion kit comes with the motor and ESC. I don't see any option available to purchase the conversion kit without motor and ESC.

super voyaqer e

Hi, guys and gals worldwide, look I can't fly the original piece of **** Voyager E. I purchased the new super Voyager E with the 700 g tail servo and everything they had in the book on this monster. What I couldn't figure out is the original Voyager E was not capable of getting off the ground, unless you moved the 3300 mah battery all the way forward and then all the bull**** they asked you to do with the pitch, etc. I can fly the eco 8 on my flight simulator with no problem. So I hope I can fly or at least get this pupppy off the ground and fly it. Note I also said in an earlier E-mail that you need the upgrade on the tail rotor, I can't believe people didn't understand this. This I blieve is the worst problem this heli has. Head modifications I don't understand, I couldn't get the original off the ground. I hpoe this $1,000 investment doesn't let me down.

Hi,rebrickey

>So I hope I can fly or at least get this pupppy off the ground and fly it.

You don't have to worry about it. Your new SVE will take off easily
and it is quite stable, without the notorious wobbling probably due
to the low headspeed.

>you need the upgrade on the tail rotor,

I agree with you on this. The stock tail is too fragile
and unreliable. However, replacing the stock one with a
metal one like the upgrade parts from QJ or K&S will worsen
the tail-heaviness of the SVE. I'm considering changing my
tail servo from S9254 to S9650.

super voyager e

I don't think this was my response, but thanks for the info. I would like more information straight from the horses mouth, ie. peopole from japan who fly and know this helicopter and its charecteristics. Like I said in an earlier reply, I could not fly the original Voyager E. I spent a lot of money on this helicopter and hope I can fly it. I would like to go out every weekend and show people I can master this Heli.

Hi,

I flew 6 or 7 voyagers (that I bought on Yahoo Auction in Japan, setup, video recorded during flight and then sold) and enjoyed them very much. Of course, original setup with NiMh/NiCd and brush motor is not very powerfull but does fly "correctly".

I now have a Super VE and find it VERY VERY nice. It does fly on 3S Lipo but is even better on 4S.
