Try learning the basics
http://www.littlerotors.com/flyingl.../piroflips.aspx

Then you'll be able to do any combination you like, it sounds like you're jumping ahead of yourself a little bit.

Hi,

Maybe this helps a bit:

-First of all, just begin with very little cyclics. Begin making piroets inverted and give a bit extra negative pitch. Find the right moment to give cyclic (most of the people like concentrating on the tail). Give "up" when the tail faces you while inverted. Just give very very little cyclic input. You will see that the heli makes a kind of half piroetting loop. It is very important that you give "up" when the tail is facing you (if not, the heli will come close to you). The more piroets you need for this, the better.

-Keep practicing this inverted-to-normal piroflip. If this goes well, you can practice normal-to-inverted. And then combine them..

Have you already practiced all the directions inverted and in normal hover? And can you make piroets very well? Sometimes that is the problem, you don't know how you fix a problem because you dont know how to stir.

Good luck,
Nando

Hey,

Doing Chaos with 2, 3, or more stirs doesn't make alot of difference, same timing, just smaller "stirs", so more increments/more piros for one flip.

Sounds like you've been watching my animations.

I had the same issue as you, couldn't do more than 2 piros per flip. Solved this by doing an upright piro then half of a 2 piro flip followed by an inverted piro and so on. Adding up to 4 piros per 'flip.' In time this will blend into a proper 4 piro flip. That said, I don't do exactly 4 piros per flip. Just match my 'stir' rate to the piro rate. Could be 3 piros per flip, or 3.5, or 5 or whatever.

I once asked Szabo how many piros per flip he does & he said, whatever it takes!

YES!!

When i joust started this Topic i found you animations, i was for more than 1 hour whit my lap top in my bead whit the radio following the animation true.
Then whit the simulator, and yesterday whit my real helis, at list I didn’t crash!!

Jousts a question that came to my mind:

Way might I want to do more stir per piro flip???
Dose more than 2 stir make it easy??
Dose more than 2 look’s better???
Whit more than 2 stirs, I expect more control??

Thanks…

I still fly mode 1. It's easier to talk in terms of mode 2.

Here is the key: Learn pirouetting loops first. Learn how to fly the helicopter while it is pirouetting and you can do as many piros per flip as you please.

I saw you fly at MayDay. I was there with the Rappy 50s and Synergy. I did the sloppy night flight on the back lot with the R90 that had no tail control.

You have some good skills but you still haven't caught on to mastering flying the heli through maneuvers while it is pirouetting. Your pirouetting moves were all "timing tircks". They looked great but you are gonna have to step it up to the next level.

And the best place to start is not piroflips. Start on piro funnels and prio loops. Then you will figure out that you can do as many or few piros per flip as you please.

A friend of mine sent me this a couple of weeks ago. This ain't on the deck stuff but I do a load of flying while pirouetting and there are a couple of 4 prios per flip moves and several piro loops in here and even a couple of sloppy piro 8's toward the end so you can get the idea of what I'm saying about doing as many prios per flip/loop as you please.

http://runryder.com/helicopter/gall...ark_10May07.zip

I originally hit the same brick wall as you did. I was doing 2 prios per flip and was stuck. I had learned them as a "timing maneuver" and was not flying the helicopter as it was pirouetting. Since I'm an old fart I had to actually learn to pirouette the other direction and fly to break out of it.

Good luck!

Speed up the tail rotation.

Yep, that's it. The faster the tail rotatio the more (quicker) stirs.

I got really bored the other night so I got on Real Flight. I am still the Piro-Flip Master.

One more,
Every once in a while we all get saturated or hit a wall on a learning curve. The best thing I found is to take a small break, I get back on it.
I agree with what others said, mastering still piros (both directions), traveling piros, then piro funnels and piro loops is the correct progression.
I watch a few of my friends who can now pull a couple of piro flips by just timing, and I get on their case because they cant even do controlled stationary piros, but they are having fun which is the main reason why we fly.
Good luck
