I'v just put half a dozen pics of my mid air boom strike on my site. They will take a while to down load. nothing to fancy just a broken raptor 50

I was about 80 - 100 ft up when it all went bang.

Was this a R50 V1 ?

hey jon, I did the paint with duplicolor (dont recommend!!) and the orange and grafics are sticker.

Where do you pick up this alli cleaner?

I noticed you lost your rappy to a head dampner problem? I am running a V1 head and very worried about sumthing going bad during my chaos.. but you had trouble with a metal head? is it the v1 dampners?

dan

The cleaner
well it's the stuff you'll find people use to polish there motor cycle engine parts and old classic things that corrode.Auto shops i would think.

boom strike

according to the szabo guys, It sound like my blades were to loose in the grips, head speed to low.and may have been soft dampers as well

Also my version of chaos at the moment , is one pirouette to 180 degree flip.. which means im putting in more cyclic than if you were doing , say 4 pirouettes per 180 degree flip.inturn this means that for me the disc deflection to the body runs a greater chance of hitting the boom at back cyclic........phew........

my solution is going to be ....to drill out the piviot in the head block to 6mm and use v2 spindle - dampers - and grips, run those blades tight and wind the head speed up to 1850.................

Yes, I had multiple boom strikes with my R50 V1. Terrible heli. The V2 is a lot more promising.
