Great guys, thanks for the help. I am going to be breaking in the engine this weekend and hopefully get it into some basic FF before i push it.

I must start by saying

THE OS 50 HYPER HAS INSANE POWER

I did my first start up at my cabin at 8000ft (most flights will be done at or close to sea level). Engine started immediately. I figured i would start the first few flights without the GOV on, man was i wrong. At a curve of 0-25-50-75-100 the blade was way over speeding. I would get it up to about 40 percent power and the blade was way over speeding. The thing was SCREEEEEEEMING. So i decided to bump the entire curve down to 0-25-38-65-90. Get up to half throttle and again was over speeding (the heli started shacking and it wasn't spinning to slow) I turned on the gov and set it to 1000 at a really rich setting (just getting used to the system) Also figured this would be a good area for break in. I could easily work with that. Surprisingly the heli eventually got off the ground with a nice smoke trail. I am going to work my way up with the hs from about 1700 to around 1900. The rest of my flying is going to be done in phoenix. How could people fly at hight altitude without governors? The blades just unload to much at 0 pitch.

My only complaint about the build was the engine mount wholes were off by about 3 mm. The clutch was rubbing against the top of the clutch bell(i think that was what it was called). So the engine was theoretically always engaged. Moving it down did the trick it was just annoying to do so.

Yest the hyper has a lot of power.
It is not the altitude that is causing your over speed. My zero pitch throttle setting is only 38% and I am around 600 feet above sea level.

3mm is a lot to have to move the engine down.
Did you by chance put the black washer that comes with the OS Hyper, in between the front bearing of the engine and the fan? It should not be there and makes the fan sit too high.

Watch out for the real slow head speeds, there is a harmonic vibration that comes in some where between 1500 and 1700 head speed that makes the heli shake like crazy. Performance is very sluggish below 1700 anyhow and is just barley safe to fly below that.
With carbon blades the recommended head speed is 2000for 3D and 1900 for sport flying, with woodies 1800 for everything.

Yep, no washer installed. 3mm was just my guese. After closer inspection and measurments, the bolts really only moved down about 1mm.

Got the gohbee in the air today and all i can say is WOWOWOWOWOWOW. Was very carefull the first flight. Did some piro's and basic FF. Everything was running smoothley. Didn't experience any glitching (knock on wood). I did notice a small vib on the TR. Not sure if that is a problem or not. Blades appeared to be tracking perfectley but i am going to need someone to take a closer look for me. I did one tank extremely rich so far. Did another half tank on the very rich side. Didn't have much power. I finally did a whole tankn slightly leaned out. Excellent!!! The os 50 hyper is running strong without a hickup. Small trail of smoke comming out but that was with 15% so i wouldn't expect as much as 30%. I am running 2 turns out on the needle valve.

I am amazed how stable this thing is. I was in a rock solid hover. But what even suprised me more is how fast the cyclic is. I was doing about 1/4 of a roll just to get the feel of the cyclic and i dam near rolled it all the way over, VERY NICE. I was even more shocking was that i wasn't going full through on the sticks. I am pumped. I am hoping to get into some aerobatics soon. I am not scared to much after looking at the cost of the replacement parts .
I had the hs at 1900 and will latter move up to 2000.

Sounds like you are on the right road to me.
Are you still running the stock paddles?

If so you can get the upgrade Carbon paddles and really get the cyclic moving, all the way to to holy posterior discharge speed.

Got the stinger out today. Wow, is it fun. Was getting it into some really FFF. Haven a blast. Saw no tendency to pitch up. Still getting used to the bird. OS 50 hyper ran perfectley. Excellent power to weight.

That is one of the very nice features of the Stinger 50 is that it does not get pitchy in FFF yet still has a very fast flip rate.

Flyinfool, do the carbon paddles make the heli pitch up in FFF.

The paddles do not cause the pitching up on mine.
My Stinger 50 will track all the way across the sky, hands off, at full throttle.

I do have the Gohbee carbon paddles, the all metal head, and utill DHL gets here I am using TT carbon blades, I will be going back to the Gohbee carbons as soon as they get here.

Flyingfool,

are the Gohbee blades made my rotortech by chance? I saw a set of the Gohbee's that looked like the angled tip rotortechs except they were carbon and white?

Flynfool, i am thinking of pumping the hs up to 2000 to get the hyper turning in its peak power range. How does the stock head handle 2000?
I am running the 600 carbons that came with the heli

Thanks

Concept1;
I have no idea who is making the carbon blades for Gohbee.
Different people have said they look like various other blades but when you get them side by side all agree they are different. Sorry I cant help.

Cambo;
2000 Is no problem for the stock head with carbon blades.
That is right where it was designed to run.
Crank her up and go nuts.
