Very excited to be building my first Vario (Acrobatic) and looking forward to the legendary quality and support etc. !?

1) I am about to install the servos and find out that they forgot to drill the holes in the right frame!

2) Two ball links missing (ok no big deal not using their links anyway).

3) I had to elongate two holes in the left panel because one X standoff did not fit.

4) Two M3.5 bolts missing (in the tail). Stuck for 7/10 days because 3.5 bolts are not in my toolbox. Email to Vario Germany for help three days ago no reply whatsoever. No surprise, my first email to them two weeks ago asking where/how to buy was also ignored.

5) Email to Vario UK (where I bought the heli) they read it but do not reply, the day after I ring phone says hello we have gone on holidays see you next week. Thanks to the incredible kindness and quick professional help of Joe at Vario USA I will receive the bolts and free of any charge - this is the only positive note.

After a Spectra (problems) and a Predator (more problems) I had hoped that with Vario the s**t was over... sadly only the price is different.

Sorry to hear about these problems. Most people's experience of Vario kits are good otherwise like now, we would hear about them. Sounds like Vario's QC department has 'fallen over' on this one. Hope you get it sorted out okay and don't find any other issues.

Zone8 I had a couple of missing/incorrect pieces as well. But compared to my experience with the Intrepid and Predator, the quality and engineering is far better on my Acrobatic. I can run the thing with the reliability and peace of mind of a string trimmer. The previous heli's were subject to constant tinkering and elusive vibrations, and the electronics failures that follow vibes. Vario's a very predictable machine if you get it together right. Joe is also complementing the product with good service here in N America.

I drilled the holes myself and did a complete disaster probably because I was so fed up, I hope I will be able to mount the servos anyway. Also written in ink to Vario with photo of the frame and the (long) list of issues with this kit.

Also were do you get the closed for "holidays" till next week from ??

Hi John, I use msgtag I know you opened my email Thursday at 4.55pm, an acknowledgment would have been nice!? I rang the morning after Friday and the shop was closed. Thanks but how could I know that the bolts were on their way already.

Sorry to hear of your trouble, I can only comment on Vario UK's support but I found it outstanding I was exchanging emails back and fourth at 8:00pm one night all for just an X-treme canopy.

I was correctly (as it turned out) advised against the 3d canopy as I have a side exhaust. This was picked up from a standard on-line shop order and queried.

Anyone who works at that time of night on such a relativity small order and gives it enough thought to question the order is in my book worth using.

I hope you get it sorted.

I`ve have no problems with either Vario Uk or Germany.Spare and replacement parts sent next day,e mails answered and e mails with tech queries also answered by Rosemarie in Germany.
Tech advice has been obtained from John White by email and phone without a problem and overall a very good service.

When I purchased the heli the transaction with John Vario UK was flawless and quick so nothing to complain about. I was disappointed that I was not informed that the missing parts were in fact shipped to me on a Thursday but I had to learn that only the Tuesday after browsing the Vario thread here. I have received them today Wednesday.

Vario Germany in my case has not worked with emails sent to both variohelicopter@aol.com and info@VARIO-Helicopter.de and never replied, maybe it's a coincidence. As said I have written a letter with photos of the defective frame hope to get a reply to that.

I think that the position of Vario in the heli business is awkward because it appears to me that many people (like me) who come to Vario after bad experiences with other brands band may think - given the high price, famous German precision, word of mouth etc. - to be receiving top class materials and support, so maybe mine/our expectations are above average. I still don't understand though how Vario's QC department can fall over an important part such a $100 aluminium frame.

Maybe don’t received your mail because sometimes the browsers filtered our emails and put it on junk folder or deleted. It is my experience at my first contact with Vario because my email is from my Greek website so, the browser put it on junks. After a call, Vario marked my email as not junk and NEVER had problem with them. Also one time when have a part with problem sent mail to company and response in a few hours. I don’t think this giant Company with 30 years on modelling experience, try to hide on they fingers.

Germany answers all emails from customers. I get forwarded emails all week long from customers who sent Germany an inquiry, and they answer it promptly and forward it to me. The same thing would happen to other customers around the world, it would be forwarded to the person handling that area. It is possible it was put in a spam filter, since they get hundreds of emails a day.

I have dealt with John at Vario UK many times now both in person and over the phone and have always found him to be most helpful and his despatch of parts super fast.
I have never encountered any problems at all.

I have had a few deals with John at Vario UK, and he has always been a great fellow to deal with. He has gone out of his way to help me on several occasions.
I am sure if you had sent him the problem sides he would have been happy to help you out.
The Vario acrobatic I built was of the highest quality I have seen in the heli world and I was very happy with the heli.

I hope you get yourself sorted, and give vario a ring as they really are helpful.

I see many posts saying that Vario UK is a good business to deal with, I would like to repeat again that indeed I did not have any problems with John, except a lack of comms (parts internationally posted without notifying me so I panicked for a few days) but this does not mean that they are no good.

As said almost two weeks ago I wrote a letter to Vario Germany explaining the problems with this kit and photographs of the defective frame etc. Not that I had specifically asked for a refund or a replacement, just to let them know there's been a QC problem. So far I have not been contacted, I will post here if and when there will be a reply.

I can only tell good things about Vario in Spain. They always have stock and they arrive next day. It's the best service I've seen in Spain. I had no missing pieces in my Acrobatic.

Since youre email has not been replied to you might ask John your UK dealer or Joe the US dealer to foward your email so Uli and Rosemary know you're trying to reach then with your concern.

Having just returned from the Vario Factory in Germany i can assure you that Vario Germany never received your e.mail. quote..
We do not understand his critic, because we never received an eMail
from this customer. Therefore we could not send an answer.
We also check our spam filter twice a day to avoid missing / loosing
any message from a customer.
The only time they received any information on this matter was when they received your letter.
Vario Germany are very proud of the quality of their products but as with any manufacturer ocassionally a problem may occur,if this is the case i can assure you that Vario will take this very seriously and sort it out immediatly.
If you have any further enquiries may i suggest you contact myself directly and i will sort it from the UK.

Thank you John, actually I did not want to bother you directly especially after making a fuss already with the missing bolts.

I make a living selling online and my emails usually reach their recipients. If Vario says they did not get them I suppose it is true, however, I am glad to learn through you that they got my May 6th letter and looking forward to seeing what they think or at least some kind of acknowledgement via email.

My Acrobatic flies although the servos are fighting badly due to poor alignment, one of the reasons is that I drilled the servos holes myself doing a very poor job and also, I was unable to drill elongated holes, that would have allowed a better vertical alignment of the servos. Unfortunately after waiting for so long I wasn't willing to send the defective frame back to you or to the factory for replacement, that would have been another two weeks, so I believe I will have to either live with a not perfect Vario model with short life servos, which is a shame, or purchase a new frame, which is very expensive for me. That of course unless Vario finds a way to help.

Thank you for taking your time to discuss my problems with them when you were there, really appreciated.
