Browsing thru Ebay electric helicopters, found new GWS Skylark electric helicopter complete - radio, heli,gyro,battery for $250.00 plus shipping from Hong Kong. Anyone ordered and have fun with it yet?

Isn't that the same as the Handy and the Hummingbird? They all look the same. I have seen them for $200 with radio. But shipping is like $70 from HK isn't it?

Went ahead and ordered the complete package with extra parts and free shipping for $299.00. The standard shipping from Hong Kong is approx. $35. Will let you know how it flies when I get it. The seller has an mpg video that convinced me to purchase it. Would be great to fly around the house.
It does look like the Humming bird but I think the one from Hong Kong is a bargain!

Received the Skylark electric helicopter and came pre-assembled with the GWS radio control. The GWS radio control was set to Mode 1 and I had to rewire the pots to convert it to Mode2 - took 30 minutes.
Also, the radio control takes 8 AA batteries.....hmmmmm!
After, minor setup and adjustments, I went and gave it the test flight.
The Skylark flies very nicely for a fixed pitch blades.

BTW, this is NOT a GWS product. And it looked to me like a *copy* of a well-known European miniature heli, to the points that the rotor blades appeared to be plainly molded over the original Piccolo blades, including some cosmetic "details".

In fact the Skylark is produced in China for a Hong Kong distributor. GWS supplies part of the electronics, I had an opportunity to check this a couple of days ago while chatting with GWS President Houng-Wen Lin.

This being said, I got from the discussion that GWS is considering developing their own miniature heli, but don't expect it immediately.
