Here is my newest creation for a Raptor conversion. This allows you to use the 120° eCCPM and have plenty of room for packs, whether A123s or Lipos.
The motor mount is 3/16 G10, courtesy of "askman", thanks Andrey. The 6mm pinion shaft is from the MA Razor. The Nitro starter adapter is temporary since I didn't have a 6mm collar, have some coming.
Only an 85T/10T or 86T/9T since that distance is fixed, but either the motor or pinion pulley(s) can be easily changed for different gear ratios. The pulleys and belt can be purchased from either sdp-si.com or Miniature Aircraft Razor parts. I used the top 6mm bearing in both places, once the frames are tightened together the 6mm bearing in the lower position works fine and gives added support, but the use of the stock 8mm bearing and stock pinion would be great to use. Being that the motor mount is 3/16 thick, I don't think the end will have to be supported to keep it from flexing, will find out this weekend at Mayday Fun Fly.

Wow!!! That is by far the coolest company I have seen! I have been looking for drive parts like that for stupid projects for a while. I like your e-conversion, but I am REALLY glad you listed that company!

hi there, stanc

very interested in your setup... but need to ask you noob question.

how do you calculate the ratio for the belt drive?
i mean for example the target heli that i intent to convert is with this setup-
maingear 87T,
pinion that connected directly to the maingear 10T,
motor 780kV
target rotor speed is about 2000 rpm
target lipo cells 6-8s

the MA razor 600e that i think is relevant is :
Part Number: 127-275
38 / 16 - 14.25:1 Ratio

Am i correct... appreciate your or anybody else input on this...

TIA

cheers

87T / 10T = 8.7:1
38T / 16 = 2.375:1

8.7 * 2.375 = 20.66:1

If you wanted 2000 HS on 8S, you would need 11.5:1 gearing. You can work it backwards to find out the pulleys you would need.

11.5 / 8.7 = 1.3
1.3 * 16T = 20.8 or 21T

Probably can't find a 21T pulley, so a 22T would give you 11.96:1 and 1930 HS. A 20T would be 10.875 or 10.9:1 and a little over 2100 HS.

I would use 10S and run 2200 at 100% and then dial it down to 2000 and then you would have some room for the governor to work. Then you could use a 16T/24T and have a 13.05:1 gear ratio.
