| Yes I’m using the 9351 Futabas, they have plenty of torque to move those big blades I have 6 hours in the air with my XLV now and the cyclic feel is nice and crisp
If the 9156 fit in the XLV frames, go with them, my experience is that powerful servos is always good to have, as long as you have the power supply to feed them, like the Emcotec box I think the 9156 will draw some serious amps to deliver that kind of torque, 272oz x 4 is a impressive 1088oz on the pitch, that should be enough even for a 3-blade main rotor setup, or if you want to do an fly-barless thing with the V-staby system, then the strong servos are necessary too
also, check that you don’t have any binding between the cyclic servos this can destroy the servo gears too
Did you check the motor temp after the flight ?
I have noticed that the temp goes up from 60 to around 80 Celsius when I started flying it around other the just hovering, I’m going to fit a computer fan to the motor mount, blowing fresh air over the motor so it doesn’t over heat on hot summer days
