| I really am beginning to lose patience with the cheap quality of this eflite junk. the novelity has worn off and I just want to fly and stop fixing.

Hmmmm. Yes the Blade CP/CP Pro can be very frustrating. One learns to be a better helicopter mechanic at a much faster rate than becoming a good pilot . Early on, I also was frustrated to the point of packing it up - taking pics- and ready to put it up for sell. I'm glad I stuck with it.
I think E-flite puts out a great product for the money. Flying, crashing, fixing and modding is a continuous cycle for us. Patience is key with these small helicopters, because they require a lot of tweaking and maintanence.
I have the HDX 300 BL motor and like it. I don't think it is very efficient, compared to other BL motors, but it still works well. I have ran a 8t and 9t pinion and prefer the 8t with flat blades woodies) and 9t with symetrical. I use the stock TX with these pinions and it works fine. I think 10t would be way too fast.
If you are using the plastiblades, the higher head speed can really cause some damage to the other head parts. I have had great luck with the cheap woodies from helidirect. The new flat woodies they have are made better than the ones they were selling 6-8 months ago. They seem to be a better wood and weigh a tiny bit more.
My set up on the month right now the stock frame, flat woodies, DD tail, HDX300 BL and Sonix 18A ESC. I'm using a 7.4v 850mah MegaPower bat and an 11t pinion. Why the downgrade from 11v bats? Just wanted to see how it would do and it is a GREAT indoor heli in this configuration. The main motor is ice cold and the tail motor is cool to the touch after flying for six minutes on each pack, 4 batteries back to back with no rest. I bet the tail would last 4-ever. I'll change back to the 8t and 11v packs when it is not so windy outside. |
