hi

last time i changed config in TB9A by

Break type from soft break to no Break

after changed ,the tail look stiill (last time has little bounce)

in first the gyro set to 45% ,and i finish TB9A by everything is default

for default of TB9A and TB18A is show below.
Cutoff Voltage = auto lipo
Direction tab = Forward
Break type = no Break

then i test hover agian, the tail have little wag. so i reduce gain gyro 45% to 42%

tail is still and fine, if good more than in last time,
i think in next post i will sent vdo for idea too

Thank you veryhmuch guy for help

Looks good to me - Just like mine - About as good as you can expect from variable RPM vs variable pitch

You only get the slight bounce on stops after giving rudder commands or in wind and it's not much at all - Get it out and actually fly it and I think you'll find it'll hold quite well and you'll only hear the tail working but won't notice it visually as much except for close-in hovering like in the vid

Hi
How about your Himax?
b'coz when i flight around 7 minutes.
Himax so hot temperature (amost can't touch)
but the battery is cool little warm only.

and for Medusa tail motor is so little warm.

Is this normal?

Yeah my Himax runs kinda hot too - My old Park370s seemed to run cooler and more efficient but they kept breaking and the weak adapter ring was a joke - My Himax mounts up a lot nicer and I haven't had a problem with it at all

Thanks for letting me try your CP

Hey Tim, good to catch up on your set up here.
As I mentioned when we met, I am so impressed with your CP and how you fly I am going to do the conversion to mine now.

Rather differrent from my Flybarless Logos but a whole bunch of fun and you really know your stuff.

Thanks for letting me fly your machine and say hi to the guys there in WA for me.

Talk soon

Gary

Thanks Gary

It was a pleasure meeting you - We all really appreciate you coming all this way to hang out and share your machines skills and knowledge with us and making our Fun Fly so much more interesting

I'm glad you liked my little beast - I happen to think it's a hoot and I enjoyed sharing it with you - Good luck with your own conversion and happy flying

Take care

Hi Micro
Have question, i need to ask you first before i try.

I see your Throttle curve in ST1 and ST2 by
ST1 = 90% 90% 90% 90% 90%
ST2 = 100% 100% 100% 100% 100%

How it differace by my current setting these below.
ST1 = 100 inh 50 inh 100
ST2 = 100 inh 75 inh 100

and ST1 suitable for?
ST2 suitable for?

Thank You

V throttle curves are really just for nitro helis IMO - Electrics usually don't have the overspeeding issues at lower collective ranges that nitros use V curves for and flat throttle curves don't change the torque like V curves do so it's much easier for the tail to keep up with just the torque changes of disk loading without the increased torque changes of throttling too

Normal mode is usually used to spool up and just low head speed scale-like flight - I just use it to spool up my heli since my ESC doesn't have soft start

ST1 is usually used as a sport mode for loops and rolls etc or just mild head speed for mild style of flying but I never use it myself - I have the same curves for my Trex partly just for a transitional step between normal and ST2 but I still rarely use it as my Trex ESC has soft start so I just spool up in ST2

ST2 is 3D mode - Maximum throttle and linear collective for max head speed and symmetrical control

There's lots of different ways the curves can be configured in the different modes for different reasons (styles and personal preferences)

The difference between my flat curves and your V curves is mainly just torque
Especially vs your really deep V curves that are far over-compensating for disk loading

Really the purpose of a V curve is to maintain a head speed between loading and unloading of the disk with collective pitch - But such deep V curves will likely increase head speed with collective loading and decrease head speed with collective unloading rather than maintain a constant head speed throughout - That's big changes in torque

IMO it's better to have consistent torque with flat throttle curves for these rather weak tailed little helis than consistent head speed with V throttle curves

Thank Micro ,very clear
I will try this weekend

for RPM of Himax 4100kv + pinion 10T
will get around 3000RPM , I heard someone said wood blade can't bear hi-speed more than 2400rpm , Should use carbon blade.

but i see Buildem336 ,He used wood blade. at same Motor and pinion

How your idea, pls advise

Thank you

I fly woodies all the time and prefer them for their quickness and never had a failure - Carbons will likely be heavier slower more stable and tougher if you're flying over soft turf

Hi Micro
I just observe Normal Pitch curve you got

NORM 0.0% 25.0% 50.0% 75.0% 100.0%

current i used Normal pitch curve same factory
NORM 40.0% INH 75.0% INH 100.0% ( -2 0 +12 degree)
(same graph pitch curve in normanl of manual)

Your pitch at norm same idel 1 and 2
Will it make heli hard to landing or not? but Heli will strong in more wind?

last time i try to set -3 0 +12 it make heli up and down to fast not smooth..

Thank you

I tend to change things on whims and what I posted a few pages back is how I had it at that time - It looks like I've changed my normal pitch curve again since then and now it's 25%-37.5%-50%-75%-100% - Still enough to desend the heli and pin it to the ground during spool up in windy conditions I think
