I just purchased my 3rd heli! An fury 60 expert. I am looking for advice on servos?? What are you guys using on this machine? Does it have to be digitals??? Will it not fly smooth with 9202's?? (which I currently have in my freya, and rappy 30). Thanks again guys!

Todd Bennett is using this setup in his school machines and he is getting over ten flight on a Futaba 1500 Mah pack. I saw it myself.

Not right now. He is using the Red Futaba 1500 Mah pack. I haven't seen him use the duralites for over a year. He also uses the Cermark packs.

Servos for Fury

I fly JR radios and sometimes I use Futaba servos but I allways use the GY401 with 9253 combo. My question is will the Digital Futaba servos work correctly with the JR Radio in a Furry and has anybody else done this. When a Furry comes for futaba and one comes for JR what is the difference and can you fly with all JR digitals and still fly the 401 combo? If one was to fly JR servos what is recomended? What is the price of the 9252's and what is the price of JR's answer?

Digitals 120 CCPM and speed

I saw a guy use just standard super servos (0.16 sec/60deg), and it was just fine. Yeah the torque vs. input is not linear, but so what.

In any 120 deg CCPM configuration, there will be collective mixing with heavy elevator use.

Here's a bench test of your setup:

1)pump the elevator slowly
- the collective level should not change at all

2)now pump elevator as fast as you can
- the swash will rise/fall each time

This is caused because the two front servos have a shorter path than the rear one. This means that they will get to the full forward/backward position before the rear servo catches up. This is unavoidable unless you use 140 deg CCPM, which just pushes those swash connection points forward, preventing this situation. Naturally, the faster the servos are in general, the less this problem will come out.

I have seen Fury's rung-out a lot, and if this is a problem with any servo, I have not heard about it. Most people don't pump the elevator back and forth enough to cause any collective interaction caused by inadequite speed.

PS. I hope to see y'all at the FF at MAC's in Andersonville/Americus, GA this month.
