| In a word - Sweeeeeeeeet!
I set up the cyclic/collective last night. I've been building my bird CCPM. Well, after setting all the servo links, the first thing I did was check collective and centered the swash. This required changing the length on pretty much all of the links so that everything in the head was at 90 deg.
After all was said and done, the swash is centered, and the non-binding swash setting was 49 on my Futaba 9CHP. So then I threw some blades on to see what my pitch range was. I was concerned because a stock Raptor 50 is very limited in range, and I like running +12, -12 on my Kasama head.
Well, I shouldn't have worried, I was getting +15, and -15 at the 49 setting! Yep, I'm thinking that is enough! Obviously I'll have to back down that 49 number.
Anyway, with the ACE servos, they only give you one straight (very beefy) servo arm. But even with that, I needed zero subtrim on my throttle, and only a small amount of subtrim on 2 of my cyclic/collective servos.
Then, with End Points all at 100%, I checked out for interaction in the swash with full collective travel. There was absolutely no interaction with this setup! Inconceivable!!
I am very impressed with this CCPM Hurrican Head/ACE servo setup!
Can't wait to get this thing in the air!
I got a helicopter for my girlfriend, It was a good trade! |
