| and then I decided to check out this Gohbee Stinger .50. At first I thought, hmmm...I might be able to save a few bucks, but it seems the parts supply of TT is quite good.
Then I read that a lot of the TT parts are interchangeable w/ Gohbee... Okay, but is it the same quality? I've been doing the research and it *seems* the quality is on par or better.
I'm impressed w/ the web site and everything I have read is nothing short of glowing in regards to their customer service. The replacement prices seem quite fair too... Am I missing something?
I realize asking this question in the "Gohbee" forum is probably asking for a biased reply, but I'm listening...
Here's my experience in heli's so far... I've been flying since ~Dec of .06. I first learned my hover orientations on an Esky Honeybee FP (tail-in, side and nose-in). I then got a Esky CP2 and can fly it competently in fff. I can do loops and rolls. I am currently building a nice T-Rex 450. In my old G2 simuluator, I am currently trying to learn how to fly a heli backwards. It's coming, but it's dang hard!
The reason I'm looking into gas is that very soon I will be joining a local AMA field. Prior to this, I have been meeting up w/ a bunch of electric (mainly planes) flyers at a local undeveloped park and was having a blast. Now we're kicked out of the park!
The T-Rex 600 is appealing to me, however, I can't fathom spending ~$200 per battery pack and only have ~6 minute flights. Everything I've read has said a .50 is a great all around heli.
Any thoughts/advice on a Stinger .50 purchase would be much appreciated!
