I fly All my machines (Dragon,Kobold and Raptor) on this JR652 Radio .I have no problems with any of them.I'm only a sport flier so having a complicated expensive radio is a waste of money for me.Loops, rolls, inverted ,and some backward stuff that's about as crazy as It gets for me.Tell me why the 652 is not a good radio for this gasser.Keep in mind I have purchased a s-pcm receiver for it ,along with a 401 gyro with servo and 8101's all around?

I guess the JR652 should be alright.. I was thinking of another post as BillMe was mentioned about a 6 channel radio for a gasser. I mistaken it as JR652.. it was JR622 he was talking about..

http://runryder.com/showtopic.htm?s...5606#post215606

How do you set up your CCPM.. 3 or 4 servos.. not sure if the JR652 can do the 4 servo setup..

I run 3 -120 on all my Vario's.On the CS it's a little different set up than the Dragon and Kobold. On the CS the 2 front servo's are positioned will the servo post facing forward and the horn pointing to the rear. Then Using a slight longer ball stud in the first position on the swash plate.I will see how it goes but I'm sure it will be just fine.If not I'll have to break down and buy a better radio which supports 4-90 I guess.

Just came back couple minutes ago.. flew a tank.. Man!... That machine has plenty of power.. as I punch the collective.. she just climb and climb.. No bogging at all. I'd just doing some circuits no stall turn or anything.. I find the piro a bit slow.. but i can always add more ATV to it. She just sooooo smooth.. After a tank.. my fingers start to getting numb.. so that's what i did flew a tank and come home.. Only chance is to fly today.. Tempertature is going to drop again get least now I know how this baby reacts SWEET!!!!!.. Ok so much for rambling on..
My setup is 4 servos just like what you saw at variocanada.com site No binding.. I think the 120 degree is just fine. Just take it easy with it. let us know how you making out.. Did you use 4 lines like mine to the tank or just 3 lines?

Cheers.

Heli_GAL.
Tank supplied was one with the holes on the side,so I swapped it from the one in my Dragon.I drilled an extra hole, so yes I have 4 lines now.
1.fill/empty
2. clunck to carb
3 .return from carb primer ball
4. pressure over flow
I just fitted my canopy on and the side covers the starter cord. What's your starting method.Reach in and pull it to the rear or what?
here's link to my 120 set up not sure if the picture will work but will try.

Travis, yes I just pull back like you described.. usually before that I just squeeze the primer bulb a couple of times before set the choke.. the pull it once.. otherwise you might flood the engine. then made sure the engine is idle.. give it a couple of quick pull.. she should be started right up.. pics looks a bit dark.. and i can make out what your 120 degree ccpm looks like.. kinda like my skyfox setup except my servo is in vertical position.

What is your gear ratio? What kind of head speed you going to run yours?

My model is the 8300c which is standard gearing and will run 1200-1250 rpm with the 431 blades.
Yes the picture sucks but what can you do with a 80 dollar Jam CAM.

Your standard gear would be 90/18 then.. 1200-1250 would be desirable range.. you have a tach to tach your head speed? Is your boom long or the short one? Since you are running a 431.. chances Dan gave you the short boom then.
My Gear is 85:23, that enables me to run much higher head speed. Test flown it today.. I think the head speed is perfect.. Do you have the ignition supressor cap for your spark plug and what kind of filter you have.. the metal round one or plastic one like mine?

**Edited *** Hehe... Just flew another tank of gas.. she's so sweet.. I just can't help myself.. I know i am going to fly this machine more when the weather getting much better.. Punch the collective it just goes like a rocket.. Man! she ever got lots of power to spare !! **
** Benzin all the way..**

Basically it's a standard benzin but I upgraded it to white components and ccpm frames, and Viper canopy.Yes I have an optical MINAIR tach.Yes I have the ignition suppressor cap(black unit).Yes I have a felt type clunck filter in the tank, and the clear plastic one with yellow element inside connected inline just before the carb. Why did you not want to build your's yourself?

Heli_GAL I've just been informed that my gear ratio is 85:23 which is standard Benzin Trainer ratio....same as yours
My blades are the 431 which are also the standard Benzin Trainer blades....same as Yours.
The only difference between yours and mine is the diameter of the tailboom. The length is the same.
I will run a head speed of 1500rpm instead of 1200rpm.I can go up to 1600rpm which I think your's is around without any problem. Thanks Dan for watching over our progress with these sweet Benzin machines.

Is your JR652 has 3 point curves or 5 .. If's it's only 3 point curves would that be quite tricky to set up your benzin curve?.. just a thought.

Yeah my radio only does 3 points, but I have been flying 3 point for 4 or 5 years now and I know nothing else .I will set it up like all the others I fly on this radio and see what happens.Maybe I'll run into some trouble with this CS and be forced to buy a 5 pointer. But I'll try it out as is.I don't think I would be able sneak another purchase in right now .I'll let the wife cool off for a month or two, then look into a new radio maybe

Well this thread has gone off for a while so lets get her back.Heli_Gal since you have run your heli through a few tanks of regular gas what are your thoughts. You stated that you did not like the gas smell. After your flying can you detect gas smell, does it really bother you.?
